Shani's Family Eatery & Bar — Restaurant in Napier

Went for my birthday dinner , nice place atmosphere was what you would expect for a family restaurant, we booked in advance wen we got to the restaurant they had no knowledge of our booking, finally got a table , nice waitress , ordered a starter and our mains , kids meal came out with the starter , the starter was wings , they were not nice at all and not anything like the description,we found them to be inedible, the kids meal , macaroni however was really the best thing we received that night I liked it , next our mains came out we had a burger and a steak meal , burger was OK, you would hands down get a better burger from burger fuell , I had the steak not cooked to order I asked medium well it came quite rare tho for a rare it was cooked nicely, vegetables with the meal came swimming in cheese sauce that wasn't in the description id have chosen no cheese sauce , the pepper sauce however was really nice so the meal ended up being covered in the stuff , good that the pepper sauce came in its own vessel, maby the cheese sauce should have aswel, , kids meal came with a desert witch was a brownie, very nice , as the main meal for the adults wes very average we didn't get a dessert, overall the food was over priced pub food , the waitress was nice and did a professional job wouldn't recommend to a friend , parking...

I am very disappointed, we came to your FAMILY restaurant as we have seen many post's on how you came to where you are today and how much work you had to put into the restaurant , we read people's reveiws, so myself and my family decided to try Shani's , we don't go out often, so we canceled our booking we made at a popular restaurant in Hastings where we have been before and was very happy with the service but we wanted to try something new, we had a drink each, ordered fizzy drinks for my kids, and then placed our food order, my husband ordered another beer "which was warm'' and myself a wine while we waited for our food. My daughter got her Chicken Grilled burger served and then we waited, and waited and 10minutes past then 20 minutes later, my daugter was almost finished and we still had not been served. It was hot, there were flies everywhere, my kids went to wash their hands, and the bathrooms were disgusting, I am not shaming the food, as I would believe it would have been amazing, as my daughter did enjoy her burger, but the restaurant itself need's much more managing. We ended up leaving only paying for our drinks and the burger and we had to get food elsewhere. Eating out is not cheap, and when one does decide to go and spend a little money on food, you shouldn't be expecting to get...

So we went to shanis last night and had a fantastic time, food looked great and was served in a timely fashion. We had mixed thoughts on the food, between us we had the famous ribs, steak, chips, mash potato, chorizo sausages, garlic bread, grilled chicken breast, brocolli and cauliflower with cheese sauce and for dessert we had death by chocolate, banoffee cheese cake and the chocolate lava cake. Most was delicous but the steaks were quite chewy and undercooked, the mash potato was lumpy and the chocolate lava cake wasnt great. If you go here stick to the ribs.....they are the best All in all though shanis is a fantastic friendly restaurant to go to and they even have a kids room to distract the brats We gave 3 stars because the above mentioned but will...
