Booked out night, and it was a wednesday. Dining area is quite compact, not much room tbh. Workers did well keeping up with the workload, busy night. - Capricciosa pizza 8.6/10 Definitely a knife and fork pizza. Wish it had more tomato, it was so fresh. I wanted more. Try to hold and the toppings fall off. - Meatballs spaghetti 8.5/10 Coarse meatballs, 3 isnt enough. 1 more would be better. Tomato sauce is boss, so fresh. I was full after this. - Lasagne 8.8/10 Loved it. Basil pesto could of been replaced with the tomato sauce i got in the pasta. Very hearty dish. - Tiramisu 8.7/10 More cocoa than coffee through it. But the kahula and frangelico worked so well. Orange rind garnish can be left off. -Chocolate brownie 8.4/10 Insane sweet. For sweet tooths 100%. brownies packed with flavour, and not on the light side. Still very good.

Good food. Good ambience. Would come back here for the pizza. The crust was just the right texture and thickness. We had the Neapolitan. A little too salty with the anchovies. My husband and I took some of them out but it might be a preference thing… I would prefer if the pizza didn’t have too many toppings. It makes it too complicated and too many different flavors going on. However, I was still pleasantly surprised by how the pizza bread turned out so I would definitely come back and try the other pizzas on the menu. Tiramisu was also not too bad. Most importantly, the servers here were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth the drive all the way from napier for dinner :)

This place exceeded all of our dining expectations. It was a packed night and we had 9 people in our group. Our first time here and was beyond impressed at the waitstaff (the best I've ever come across!) who somehow managed to get all of our orders and drinks down to a tee by memory, super friendly, confident, attentive and just overall amazing. We had a mix of the entree, pizza and pasta mains and then somehow managed to squeeze in desserts which we were stoked that we got as they were just as good. The whole night was one of the top dining experiences we have all had in a long time. Thank you thank you Alessandro staff, chef, all. Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa x

An unfortunate end to our evening. When the drinks arrived to the table, I decided to try my partners pineapple and ginger infused tequila cocktail. It tasted interesting and delicious. Then I tried my sangria and I was very surprised because it was one of the worst sangrias that I’ve ever tasted! I asked for more fruit juice to be added to it in the hopes that would make it better. The waitress seemed confused and came back with the bottle that it originally came from and I was shocked that it wasn’t homemade (especially since it was a similar price to the homemade tequila cocktail and also because it’s so easy to make). At this point, I asked if I could have something else instead of the sangria and asked for the pineapple tequila cocktail. Upon leaving, we were very disappointed that we were charged for the sangria and the girl at the till said we could call the owner to speak with her about it. I would have preferred to talk to her at that time, but unfortunately she was going to just write down her phone number. Disappointing for sure and we won’t be recommending or returning due to how this situation...

Alessandro’s is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in ages. From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere makes you feel like family. The service is outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve.

But let’s talk about the real star of the show: the calzone. I’ve had calzones before, but nothing compares to the one at Alessandro’s. It’s a golden, perfectly baked masterpiece—crispy on the outside, warm and pillowy inside, with a generous filling of rich, gooey cheese, savory meats, and the freshest vegetables. Every bite is bursting with flavour.

If you’re even thinking about ordering something else, trust me: get the calzone. It’s not just food—it’s a work of art. I’d come back to Alessandro’s for that calzone alone, but the rest of the menu is also incredible.

A must-visit for any Italian food lover. Five stars all the way!

Special shoutout to Rijo, happiest and nicest guy...

My husband and I went to dine during quite a busy period and once we heard the wait time (which we otherwise would have been fine with) we thought we wouldn't have time to have dinner there as we were heading to a show afterwards. However, the staff noted down the time we had to be away by and made it in record time. 😊 We were so well looked after even though all the staff must have had so much to do. We had a lovely meal. And even sitting outside, (which in most places I struggle with because usually even if you're by a heater it just means you're too hot on one side and still cold on the other side), between Allesandro's heaters and their awnings, it was a very comfortable temperature. It was actually really nice sitting outside! There was music playing as well, loud enough to be enjoyed and not so loud as to be intrusive. We'll...
