I live in Upper Hutt and I've been filling up my truck at BP Upper Hutt , at the end of my run. The last 2 weeks , at the end of my run, I arrive to refuel and pump 8 or 7. They are always switched off , so I spend 5 to 10 minutes trying to get an attendant to turn a pump on for service. Today was the same . I entered the store , a customer who was shopping for vaping products was making inquiries at the counter & was holding up another customer who was waiting for service. The customer inquiring about vaping products did not purchase any fuel and took another 5 minutes before making a decision on what vaping flavours and machine to purchase. When I was finally served , l asked the attendant why the pumps are turned off and if was because they didn't want me to park my truck their to refuel ? The attendant explained that her and her colleges didn't see me arrive or trying to get their attention . I replied how could she not , as I wear hi visibility vest and drive a class 4 curtain sider, that's loud, big and brightly painted. The attendant didn't respond. I asked the attendant if the Service Station would rather I take my business elsewhere ? The attendants reply was " I know who you are ! " To which I replied , " What's that got to do with my complaint". However I do not know who this person is ! I explained that I have the same issue every day I try to refuel at this Service Station. It was explained that it was company policy , as those 2 pumps are always targeted for drive offs. This didn't make sense if they are always turned off. I asked if there was any way I could get service from those pumps quickly ? I was told to go to another pump. Not impressed. Trying to support local but I'll think I'll refuel my truck at BP Taita as they have superb customer service , and are always welcoming. Thanks BP Upper...
Read moreI walked in, stood there while one was on the phone...all good, sounded important whatever it was so thats fine. Another person then served me and I paid for the swap over of a gas bottle. Went out and waited for them to come and unlock the cabinet....and waited....and waited while they stay inside talking looking at me. 5 minutes later I had to ask them to actually come and get me the new bottle I had paid for. I'm pretty cruisy and don't mind waiting when they're busy but 3 people on and not even busy...thats just rubbish service. Between the grumpy old lady at the counter and the painfully slow service, I find myself making a U-turn straight to Pak N Sav fuel. Not sure what's going on with staffing here, but it's definitely driving...
