Maidstone Park — Attraction in North Island

Lovely open park with walking tracks, mature trees and lots of grass area. There are great areas for organised sport or practice available to the public, if not booked or occupied. Rugby fields, petanque ground, artificial turfs for hockey, tennis and football are all well maintained. There is even a miniature railway! Great place to walk the dog, loads of paths up the hill (some steep with steps some more chilled) lots to explore for inquisitive dogs, seen a lot of people with dogs off, couldn't see signs to say they can't be, I kept my dogs extendy lead and on though! Awesome place for the kids to burn out all the energy. A twin flying fox is a popular station and does get a queue when it’s busy. The skate park and whoop tracks are a great add on as well.
