Awesome awesome awesome! Charred ticks all the boxes when trying to find somewhere to eat in New Plymouth! It all starts with the easy parking and great location. you’re welcomed in to vibrant trendy cafe and damn awesome staff with such a good positive and warm vibe. Looking down at the menu it’s packed with a huge variety to cater to any appetite or mood. I chose the pepperoni/chorizo pizza and pork dumplings. 5 minutes later two trendy and modern takeaway boxes get brought to me with a smile. Now the main thing to review about this place Is the food good???? The answer is it’s god damn delicious Presentation quality temperature & flavour unreal!

Could not recommend this place more. Definitely will be back with a group of foodies eager to try!

This new cafe is absolutely to die for. The menu has mouthwateringt meals for everyone and the sweet treats in the cabinet are amazing. Grab a coffee from their lovely barista along with a meal cooked to perfection by one of the 2 amazing chefs (including kids meals for the little ones) and I guarantee you will not be disappointed! Have just been back today (21/12/23) and had the most amazing prawn risotto. This amazing dish is so flavoursome with the creamy risotto and plump juicy prawns, once you start you can’t stop. Top this off with a beautiful light and airy chocolate marquise for dessert… light pillowy mouthfuls of a chocolate mousse to die for. We were welcomed to New Plymouth with such kindness and grace by Staff at charred on Monday (4/11/24). He was absolutely lovely and very polite which was an uplifting moment because It's hard to find kindness like that these days. We grabbed sandwiches from the cabinet which were utterly delicious but the menu itself also looked very tasty. The service was very quick and coffee was excellent. Bang for your buck also as you could see how much effort went into their food. The only thing I would say, is that for such a beautiful eating experience by staff and food, the café itself seems like it needs a little bit of omph....maybe a fresh lick of paint and some decor that reflects what the café is all about.
