Ā Ā Ā Read moreLack of vegan options. It says that the veggie breakfast at $19 has a vegan option available, but what would be on the plate would be an avocado, tomatoes, mushroom, spinach and bread. There isn't any substitutes for the halloumi or eggs and the potato cakes can't be eaten by vegans as they have egg in them. The halloumi would have been the most expensive thing on the plate so not having that should have at least made the price less expensive. This wouldn't usually be a problem but still charging full price for half a plate of food with no substitutes (that can easily rectified) isn't great really. I realise being vegan is a choice and I understand not many places may cater to it, but if it says a vegan option is available, you would expect there to be the same amount of food on the plate as the vegetarian one and I would have happily paid $19 for that plate of food. The food display at the counter instantly caught my eye. I usually avoid counter food, but I decided to give it a try, and all I can say is WOW. I had the chicken salad from the counter, and it was unbelievably goodāfresh, vibrant flavors, perfectly balanced, simply delicious! Plus, it was super affordable. I paid around NZD 21 for a large salad bowl and a large chai latte. Seriously, this place is worth checking out. The staff at Common Ground Cafe are exceptionally friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. Despite being busy, my order arrived quicker than expected. I went on a Sunday around noon, and the place was buzzing. People say it's a popular spot, but the spacious layout ensures thereās always room for more.
