Title: A Cosy Haven of Delights in Johnsonville! From the moment I stepped into Common Ground Cafe in the heart of Johnsonville, Wellington, I knew I was in for a treat. This quaint little cafe instantly charms you with its warm, inviting atmosphere and the welcoming smiles of its staff. The ambience here is second to none, with its cosy interior that pairs perfectly with Wellington’s brisk mornings and cool afternoons. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself losing track of time, whether you're nestled in a corner with a book or catching up with friends over coffee. Speaking of coffee, Common Ground serves some of the best brews in town. They take their coffee seriously, with each cup expertly crafted, offering a rich and robust flavour that coffee aficionados will appreciate. Alongside their splendid coffee, the cafe offers a delightful menu that caters to a wide range of tastes, including vegan and gluten-free options. From hearty breakfasts to scrumptious lunches, each dish is beautifully presented and made with the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. I recommend their avocado toast, which is a sheer delight, and their baked goods, which are a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth. Each visit feels like a discovery of new flavours, thanks to the chefs' creativity and passion for food. What truly sets Common Ground Cafe apart, though, is the feeling of community and warmth that emanates throughout. The staff are not only friendly but genuinely care about making your experience memorable. They remember your favourite orders, greet you with a smile, and go above and beyond to ensure your comfort. In summary, Common Ground Cafe is a gem in Johnsonville, Wellington. It’s more than just a cafe; it’s a place where good food, great coffee, and warm company blend to create unforgettable moments. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by and bask in the wonderful experience that is Common Ground Cafe. See you there!

I usually pass on suggestions to explore cafes in Johnsonville, but this time I decided to give it a shot. To my surprise, I discovered a real gem: Common Ground Cafe. Right from the moment I walked in, I felt the welcoming vibe. The place is warm and charming, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing brunch or coffee break. The food display at the counter instantly caught my eye. I usually avoid counter food, but I decided to give it a try, and all I can say is WOW. I had the chicken salad from the counter, and it was unbelievably good—fresh, vibrant flavors, perfectly balanced, simply delicious! Plus, it was super affordable. I paid around NZD 21 for a large salad bowl and a large chai latte. Seriously, this place is worth checking out. The staff at Common Ground Cafe are exceptionally friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. Despite being busy, my order arrived quicker than expected. I went on a Sunday around noon, and the place was buzzing. People say it's a popular spot, but the spacious layout ensures there’s always room for more. Another great thing about this cafe is its awesome location. It's right next to the library, with a pool outside too. The atmosphere is lively yet cozy, with happy faces all around. I highly recommend giving it a try. The delicious food, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere make it a standout in Johnsonville. I'll be going back for sure, and soon!

One of my favourite cafes in all of Wellington! The service is consistently phenomenal and the cabinet food selection is out of this world. Alongside the extensive brunch menu, there is something for everyone at Common Ground, whether you're wanting a meal or snack, sweet or savoury, as well as children and those with dietary restrictions. It can be busy at times, but you'll never be waiting for a table, nor will there be a wait for the food. Their team is very efficient and will ensure you have a calming dining experience. Highly rate their muffins, cheese scone and bang bang chicken salad. Keep up the awesome work guys! :)

Lack of vegan options. It says that the veggie breakfast at $19 has a vegan option available, but what would be on the plate would be an avocado, tomatoes, mushroom, spinach and bread. There isn't any substitutes for the halloumi or eggs and the potato cakes can't be eaten by vegans as they have egg in them. The halloumi would have been the most expensive thing on the plate so not having that should have at least made the price less expensive. This wouldn't usually be a problem but still charging full price for half a plate of food with no substitutes (that can easily rectified) isn't great really. I realise being vegan is a choice and I understand not many places may cater to it, but if it says a vegan option is available, you would expect there to be the same amount of food on the plate as the vegetarian one and I would have happily paid $19 for that plate of food. I may sound like a 'Karen' to everyone reading this, but it is something that I think a cafe should think about. I am not trying to put anyone out business or expect more than what was promised on the menu but it might be something the chefs could look into? Or the manager who designs the menu to try and offer more substitutes. I also understand not many people may be vegan here so it is not something they would need to cater for usually. The young lady who served me was helpful and did go and speak with the kitchen staff about what options were available. Hence why I have...
