The Inn Keeper of Johnsonville — Restaurant in Wellington

Feel a bit ripped off if I’m honest. The inn keeper had a Valentine’s Day deal - a free drink and a free dessert with the purchase of any main meal… a deal in which they did not honour. My partner and I both ordered a main meal, had a glass of wine, and decided to order a dessert on the basis that it was free. We get to the till, turns out we are paying for everything! When I contest, the lady said “oh that deal only comes with the bubbles,” but this was not stated beforehand….. service was very poor. We got our drinks AFTER our main meal was eaten. We were planning on having a couple pints each and maybe dinner here but could hardly sit through one beer with the number of fruit flies flying around us.

It was a real pity because we like the place and the staff were really great, especially a woman from the Netherlands. Sounds like the staff have done everything they can do deal with the issue, I feel sorry for them having to work in that kind of environment.

Really hope you get the problem sorted out soon professionally as this one thing completely ruined the bar for us.

Where to start, UK Ex-Pats make this place your #1 go to. Walking in it’s like walking back into your local pub back home (think US comedy “Cheers” at its best). The entire pub looks like it’s been transported from the UK, right the way down to the football scarves on the wall. As for the food, oh my word….I’m in heaven! This is the best food “grub” I’ve had in 13 long years and I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu! The staff are amazing and super friendly. Honestly this place has just earned itself a new regular....
