Cupple — Restaurant in North Island

We only go here when we have to. They don't have trim milk or flavor for lattes, so be warned.

I've inquired so as to be understanding. The response I got indicated they are coffee purists which is great if you're into that, but unsure why you would force that upon the rest of your customer base. They could be busier if they had trim or flavorings.

Which is strange, because they offer oat milk and almond milk. What happened to being a purist? It's like going to a vegan restaurant that decides to serve chicken but no beef because reasons and compromised values. At least be consistent.

Adding on, when I asked specifically about trim they mentioned the processing and added sugar which, okay, but then they sell an entire case full of sugar coated bakery items and doughnuts filled with sugar every day. So which is it? For what it's worth, the doughnuts are super good, but they come from the baker they share their space with.

I went there with my sister. I'm not sure if they have a printed menu because based on the digital screen at the counter, it only showed black and white coffee as available options.

However, if you want something like a macchiato, they can actually make it for you — which is great. So it's helpful to already know the kind of coffee you'd like to order, as they can prepare it even if it’s not shown on the screen.

The pastry was served warm. I’m not sure though if you can request for it to be reheated.

Kia ora , Just a post to say we stopped off to have a coffee and snack at Cupple in  Hastings . Great coffee and supreme friendly service .A call out to Petra from Czech Republic/Netherlands , it was her first day on the job and she was brilliant ( accurate interpretation of a fairly complicated order) friendly, and took the time to chat with us but not in a way that took her attention away from other customers .So all in all a great experience for us two coffee snobs from the upper North Island ;) Well done guys we will be back...
