Nestled in the heart of the city, this restaurant offers an authentic and delightful dining experience that will transport you straight to China. From the moment you step in, the welcoming ambiance and friendly staff set the tone for a fantastic meal. 😋
The menu at Dragons is extensive and diverse, featuring a wide array of traditional Chinese dishes. Whether you're craving dim sum, Peking duck, or sizzling seafood, there's something to satisfy every palate. I highly recommend trying their dumplings – they are exquisitely crafted and burst with flavor in every bite. The crispy roast pork is another standout, offering a perfect balance of tenderness and crunch. 🍤
One of the highlights of my visit was the impeccable service. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to make recommendations and ensure that your dining experience is top-notch. The atmosphere is vibrant and bustling, yet comfortable enough to enjoy a leisurely meal with family or friends. 🌟
In addition to the delicious food and excellent service, Dragons Restaurant boasts a beautifully decorated interior that enhances the overall dining experience. Read moreYum Cha at Dragons is an amazing and delicious experience. The staff do an amazing job of keeping the dishes coming with many many options to choose from. So many different steamed, fried and roasted options, and very reasonably priced. Normally a group of 4 or more could expect to be very satisfied with a budget between $16 -$22 per person, depending on how many high value dishes are chosen. (The pork belly and roast duck are amazing, but 2 of the pricier options, saying that one pork belly is cut into bitesize pieces and is large enough for 6 or 8 people to have a few pieces each). Can't recommend this place enough, I jump at the chance to go here for lunch.
Their dinner menu is equally fantastic. I've only had dinner here 3 times, but each time I've been blown away. The portion size is very generous on the mains, so you can deliciously look forward to left overs the following day for lunch or dinner. The orange beef is one of the best I've had in Wellington.
Whether lunch or dinner the Jasmine tea is refilled regularly, there are a bunch of other drink options, but the tea complements the dishes so we'll it's usually all we order.
The front of house staff are also absolutely awesome, always willing to try and accommodate customer requests, welcoming, and efficient. The entire operation runs smoothly, and I can't wait to go back and try a new dish.
Worthy of at least 5...

It was very windy in the evening but we braved the chill to walk all the way there from where we parked our car.
This restaurant was obviously popular with the local folks. Stepping into the restaurant and it feels like any other regular Chinese restaurants. ◾steamed fish with superior soy sauce - it actually tasted pretty good with the fresh fish and good grade soy sauce. ◾Sweet & sour pork - kids love it so why not? ◾Roasted pork belly - compared to the ones we find in Malaysia, their version was thicker but still good. While I prefer the roasted pork in its original taste, I think that New Zealanders like it with sweet sauce ◾braised taufu with seafood ◾stir fried long beans with dried shrimp
One word of caution - the portion was huge for all the dishes as per western standard. We could not finish the dishes and had to takeaway in the end. Nonetheless, this is definitely the most popular Chinese restaurant in the capital of...
