As an australian visitor in nz for no more then 48 hours I attended good georges on raglan main st with a friend and four legged friend, we specifically requested not to feed anything to the dog (it has a condition) - this will play a part later on. On arrival greeted by a young woman who showed us to a table. As soon as i sat down i sat in a puddle of water on the seat absolutely soaking me through, no bother i then proceeded to order a jug of a recommended good georges lager - on request asking the patron if she knew which was a 'good' lager to select, she replied "i dont know the difference" whilst wearing a good george tshirt. When she returned with the jug i asked for the wifi as i did not have any data being a visitor and needing to book our collection to the next venue. She replied "we dont have any here, maybe you should try talking to people instead" and walked off whilst i was still talking to her. She must have mentioned something to the cook behind the bar as he continued to give a VERY filthy glare to us as we sat and drank our glasses. Needless to say we both felt extremely uncomfortable and did not want to order food. She returned a moment later with water for our dog (after ask specifically asking her not to) i said nothing... as she walked away turned around and sturnly said "your welcome!" As if i asked her for it. Each time we looked at the bar was met eith filthy looks from the staff. We could not have gotten out of there fast enough. Very very poor customer service and welcome - good...
Read moreThis was never going to be a good experience from the moment I spoke to the head waitress as I walked past at about 2:00pm to enquire about making a booking for that evening. She said that they only took reservations for groups of 10+. She must have used that line thinking we were a smaller group so wouldn’t be able to make a booking. I told her we were a group of 11 expecting a reservation to be made but she wouldn’t allow me to do so and told me to try our luck that evening. On arrival at 6:00pm we were told by the same waitress that there would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table. We were happy to do that but after 20 minutes this suddenly changed to 1 to 1.5 hour wait. This while there were a bunch of empty tables in clear view. The waitress was completely disinterested in being helpful and made zero attempt to come back to us even though she could see us trying to get her attention. It would have taken very little to communicate in an engaging and friendly manner not only with us but with the other potential customers she also turned away while we were waiting. We would have been happy to wait if the waitress had been friendlier and customer service focussed as opposed to being rude and deliberately ignoring people’s attempt to communicate with her. Life’s too short and there’s plenty of other food vendors who are happy to see customers.....they got our...
Read moreI am not one to usually leave a review, however last Sunday my friends and I had such a particularly bad experience which I feel needs to be bought to your attention. Don’t get me wrong, the food (the chicken pizza was extremely good), the drinks and the restaurant ‘atmosphere’ were all really good – we were very happy with that part of our experience. However, similar to what a few previous reviews have alluded to, we had an extremely rude and unprofessional young lady with dark brown hair, treat us what I would consider very poorly! From the moment we arrived and were asked what we were doing standing in the way, to the end of our experience when our drinks were removed from the table still with a third in them, we felt uncomfortable. The behaviour by your staff was rude and unjustified. Very disappointed, and will not be recommending to any family...
