INDI Raglan — Restaurant in North Island

I was visiting Raglan over the weekend and found the town to have a really good vibe. I loved how this cafe was presented and proceeded to take some photos as most visitors do before wanting to buy a coffee to takeaway.

While taking photos, this person serving behind the counter started to wave me away as he wasn't comfortable having the photos taken, which i completely respected and decided to stop. I even apologized once i realized his reaction.

What was disappointing after i stopped taking photos and apologizing was he began to badmouth me in front of his customers and accusing me of not even buying a coffee, embarrassing me in the process. I decided to discourage my extended family of 20 from visiting this establishment for the remainder of the trip.

Whilst i respect not wanting photos taken (in a public space) but to badmouth me in front of his other customers was extremely unprofessional of this staff member. If this is the kind of customer service that i am to expect as a prospective customer, i would not recommend anyone else to visit this place while this person continues to be customer facing. I have no issues with this establishment but I do take offence at this specific staff member and his attitude. We started our day after watching the sunrise at this little café. Loved the place, such a cozy, simple and calm place. The vegan cookie were one of the best cookies I had. Really good cream cheese bagel, all of it tasted homemade.
