Long Island Delicatessen — Restaurant in North Island

The food tasted nice, but my wife's vegetable tart was served barely lukewarm and the person taking the order REALLY struggled.

We had to repeat the order several times, she had to ask for help finding one of the items, and then when the order did arrive, the iced coffee we had ordered (repeatedly) came as an iced chocolate, no coffee at all. Given the hassle we'd had placing the order the first time, we simply couldn't be bothered pointing out the error and gave up and took our mostly-correct order home (

My first experience was a chance encounter with the cream cheese savoury muffin along with a coffee - as I left a fresh batch of cheese scones landed on the counter, forcing my return visit.

The cheese scone is well priced and even better quality. Soft and fluffy filling with just the right amount of cheese, wrapped in a crisp almost outer shell of golden brown.

The display is filled with artistic choices of both sweet and savory, small and substantial, the end product presented perfectly with pops of color and plenty of variety. If in doubt about the clear love that has gone into the process, you can step outside and watch the kitchen from the footpath. The high standards and focus on quality is clear to see, Long Island is an impressive ambassador for the hospitality...

Service was severely lacking..I unfortunately did not have a good experience.i ordered a takeaway cofee...then a couple came in 5mins after me and ordered takeaway coffees ..they were served before me and coffee delivered to where they were sitting...I'm not sure why they were served before me and mine was not delivered..I'm not saying it was racism (as I am maori.and the couple were caucasian ) but it was a blatant double standard of service that made me feel very uncomfortable...
