We discovered this gem on a recent visit to the Hawke’s Bay. Unassuming from the outside, this eatery had plenty of delicious options, both on the menu and in the extensive cabinet. It was one of those challenging experiences where you just can’t decide what to order! The staff were friendly and attentive, the coffee was good and strong (although the long blacks could’ve been slightly hotter), the meals arrived fairly quickly and were as delicious as expected, and the after-lunch desserts from the cabinet were wonderful (brownie and ginger slice highly recommended).

What an amazing cafe. It was full on a Monday morning, which says something in itself. As others have mentioned, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. As the Cafe was full we were happy to sit in the enclosed outer section, but the thoughtful waitress came back to offer an inside table when it became available. It was a chilly morning, so we welcomed that. We ordered the crumpets as something different....and they were absolutely delicious! The extra hot cappuccino was extra hot....so top marks there. We were visiting from Wellington, but will definitely be back. There was a lot of delicious cabinet...
