The service was nice, However the meal was a huge let down. Loving thai and deciding to try a different location in our area to support local businesses. We ordered thai from this business to takeway. Our ordered started with 2 tom kha soups @$17 each which were over loaded with veges for which we always experienced as simple soups with beautiful coconut curry flavors, (this was not the case instead we got something resembling a stew). We also ordered (recommended by the young lady serving) a combination entree, for $20 which included 2 individual pieces of 4 different entrees, I picked, 2 deep fried chicken pieces a wing & leg, both measured the same length as my little finger, over cooked, terrible! then 2 x chicken satay which did not measure much longer than the wing, nice sauce but both entrees hugely were disproportionate to what they are charging for each item. ( which amounts to approximately $2.50 each with rice) I also got 2 x won tons, which were so thick they looked and tasted like a samosa with unidentifiable meat somewhere under the many layers. 2 x spring rolls stuffed vermicelli and veg with a thick crust casing, not good at all. I called and respectfully told the young lady of my experience, I said, I would not come back to buy food there again and that I would right a Google review to warn others. She basically said " ok, sorry ". $54 wasted like the most of the food which ended...
Read moreSee below- update on review: WOW! Less than 24 hours and I have had an offer to call in and replace my order! That's what you call service! (and they tell me that next time I can ask for a plastic bag if I wish) And tonight we had what was left of yesterdays order- some Tom Kha coconut chicken soup- and if you have not tried it, it's a wonderful mix of flavours.. Thai cooking at it's best. Richard
Thai Kitchen, renowned for their great food, are now all greeny and anti plastic, putting everything in paper boxes and bags. (!!!) Lunchtime today, they packed the bag with my Pad King and Tom Ka Gai and I held it carefully upright so it could not fall over all the way home to find that they had packed the pad king box on its side in the bag and it leaked so badly that the juice was in the car carpet and had trailed through my new house carpet for 9 metres to the kitchen where the bottom completely fell out of the paper bag! I have now cleaned up the mess, but you guys need to rethink the paper stuff- at least put the whole lot in a PLASTIC bag in case these rubbish paper containers leak because you put them on their side in the bag by mistake? Be interested to see if they respond with an offer to relace it all.... I will leave another review in three weeks when back in Tauranga to let you customers know if they put their mistakes right! Read moreOrdered a Tom Yum which is advertised as tomato and mushroom soup - also traditionally only is a mushroom and tomato soup - added chicken. No mention of all the other vegetables they included in it as soup was jam packed full of unnecessary vegetables (I’m assuming as a filler as not much chicken also) including sprouts which it is definitely not supposed to have in it! I am pregnant and didn’t realise until the end i had been eating them the whole time which can cause serious harm to babies. Not much soup AT ALL as just full of spinach, carrot and broccoli - also not ONE mushroom to be found. Gutted as all I wanted was a tasty, traditional Tom Yum soup. Meal advertised is not what was served and won’t be going back. Not traditional, not enjoyable, hardly any soup and very tasteless. Only ate it as it was all I had...
