Absolute Fraud - Stay Away!

I am writing this review to warn everyone about the completely fraudulent and deceptive practices of this restaurant's owner. We booked a first birthday party for our daughter and had a clear, pre-agreed verbal contract: a set price for 30 people, with a strict maximum of $200 for drinks, as we had brought our own wines.

The owner's behavior throughout the night was appalling. We provided seven bottles of our own carefully selected wines for the occasion, but during the party, three of them went missing. When I confronted the owner, he lied and claimed they were all gone. After I insisted, he begrudgingly returned one bottle, but two of our wines were clearly stolen. As a poor substitute, he then provided wines from the restaurant's own stock. These were no match for the quality we had chosen, and we ended up returning one full bottle and another that was nearly full.

As the night went on, the owner showed a complete disregard for our agreement. Despite our clear understanding that the drink tab would not exceed $200, he ran up a bill of $380. The entire point of the pre-agreed limit was for him to manage the service and stop once that cap was reached. Instead, he simply chose to inflate the bill and demand more money.

Beyond the theft and inflated charges, the owner's conduct was unprofessional and deceitful. Even the birthday cake we provided was mishandled; guests later complained they were served only the bread portion, with the cream seemingly kept by the owner for themselves. Let me start by saying this was the best indian restaurant food i have tried in my life. And i have been india. The food was absolutely delicious, soft paneer, tender juicy chicken and the taste oh wow the taste. Out of the 3 days we stayed in lower hutt we dined here twice.

The 2 cocktails the chef will recommend is out of this world. It feels like you are biting into a cake everytime you take a sip.

And the chef, if you don't know he is a world class chef and also is the owner of the restaurant. You wouldnt know this but we got to chit chatting on a slow tuesday night and the chef actually worked at 5 star restaurants and has a passion for his food.

So in my recommendation you must go try this place may look your average restaurant from the outside but its worth the try.
