Mangawhai Central location review - Good food, lovely people, great atmosphere however they need a sustainability overhaul. I was disappointed they don't have recycling for their plastic containers, cans and drink bottles. We had to bring ours home rather than toss into their single 'everything' bin. They should also have wasabi and soy served from containers rather than one use plastic serves, at the very least the former should be the default with single serve plastic only available on request. Right afterwards I saw a couple of the little soy fish containers on the ground of the carpark, ready to be wooshed down the drain, into the ocean, to be ingested by some poor unsuspecting bird or sea creature.
