Rumour has it cafe — Restaurant in Palmerston North

I have eaten or met friends for coffee a few times at Rumour has it.Weve also had small work meetings there. I found the staff really friendly and kind. There is a good range of different foods, pies, sandwiches panini's and various cakes. There is not a wide range of gluten free items however. I have a low gluten diet ( not a coeliac) I would hesitate to bring my coeliac neice here. However I have no evidence to support this just being unsure that she would find genuine gf food and that there isn't a lot to choose from so not fun for her.However staff are very accomodating as if they will do what they can to please their customers so haven't tested the gf option totally. I enjoyed coffee, hot chocolates and teas I've had at Rumour Has it. Also there is plenty of parking at the back but not obvious from the road. Today, we ordered a few meals. I had the bacon and egg panini. Now firstly, the bacon and egg panini also had cheese. I don't eat cheese and this was an issue. Other food items on their label said they contained cheese, but this one didn't. Anyways, the bacon in the panini was rubbery, dry, and hard, and the egg tasted funny. Food was warmed. We also ordered a toasted sandwich with a scone, it wasn't that special, and was actually quite bland.
