Chicking Takanini — Restaurant in Papakura

Update 19 Jan 2023 Thank you to Ayam for the great service yesterday. We still regularly go to Chicking to have our chicken fix and still order the party pack for best value! ———— A great alternative to KFC. Love the different chicken options: regular, spicy, grilled. Our favourite so far is the regular and spicy! We always order the party pack so we got burgers, chicken, chips and rice in one order. The Soho rice for me was very yum.

There was one time we ordered and it was very busy. While waiting I noticed everyone who had ordered after me had gotten theirs except for mine. I understand the party pack I ordered is a big order especially with different chicken options. The Manager (I believe) added extra chips to the order and apologised for the wait. That was a lovely gesture and good customer service.

Food wise is very good and very tasty. My hubby does not like a lot of salt in his food so we usually order here more than KFC. If you don’t like too much salt in the chicken this would be a good option to consider.

My only one feedback would be the parking space. On busy times it can get very tricky to get to the store with the incoming traffic. There are a few parking spaces out front and at the back and may be a bit tight. The dine-in is a bit small but since most orders are done on takeaways it’s not really an issue for me.

Apart from that we still keep coming back to order because we love the taste. Keep it up...

I am really disappointed in their service. Today(29/05/2020) , me and my friend went to their takanini outlet to try some of their chicken.our order was taken perfectly without having any delay. after that the problem started. I didn't realize it was a beginning of a big waiting period. I saw a good number of customers shouting at them for keeping them wait for a long time i mean ages. Still they didn't learn from their mistakes. they just kept apologizing even if they are not sorry for that. but the most annoying part was that I was the last customer to be served in that building even though there were multiple customers who came to the building after me( still was served last). after seeing the last customer go out of the building i spoke with the lady regarding the order . she ordered my order just after the complaint(all those time i stood for nothing) . I received my order 10 minutes later , hence it took 30 mins to get my food even though my order was really small compared to others. I'm giving them 1 star because of 3 reasons i cant go below 1 star A star out of pity food being good.
