I went in and placed order..saw 8 staff there workin on da night yet pathetic service..busy time they should not allow trainees to serve customers as there are people who order food to pick up on the way home ..upon ordering my food i was told 20 mins at that time it was 7.15pm and went i went after 20 mins at 7.35 pm my order was not even ready ..it took them 40 mins to make my order which is basically double da time they told me 2 wait..when i picked up my food i took it home n opened and found what ? The food was dry so i took it back to them n they sad this is how they make it..i wasted almost 1.5hrs just by ordering with this takanini branch..i asked for the manager n the white young staff came saying she is the manager n when i saw the name on the board for manager on duty it was sanjana kumari n when the lady couldnt undsrstand what i was sayin she called the actual manager who was an indian girl ..such liers working for takanini branch and not even an apology for the mistake ..such ridiculous service i mean come on when you cant afford to look after your customers then dont bother to open the franchisee and spoil the brand name .i hope i get a feedback from the store owner who is mr vinod kumar or else im takin this issue to head office and showing them pictures of the food which was given to me .really disappointed with this..i would rather drive frm papakura to manukau to recieve better customer service and better food rather then goin back to these fake n liers in takanini branch who dont understand what a customer is and what there brand...

I’ve lived in NZ for 18 years and have visited many Nando’s restaurants, but my recent experience at Takanini was the worst by far. I placed an online order and went to collect it, expecting to receive the free side offer currently being promoted. However, I was told I needed to spend a minimum of $6.25 in-store, a condition not mentioned anywhere in the promo.
The staff member acknowledged the missing information but instead of resolving the issue professionally, she became defensive and argumentative. I repeatedly clarified that I wasn’t trying to pressure her, just asking for what was advertised. Her response made it feel like she was personally paying for the free side. She completely forgot that she is representative of Nando's, not owning it. Her behavior would reflect on Nando's Customer Service. I asked to speak to her higher up but none were available.
Eventually, she gave me the side but acted like she was doing me a favor. That’s not acceptable customer service.
To make matters worse, my order was poorly packed, and I received peri-peri chips instead of plain ones for my 3-year-old. This shows a lack of attention and care.
My suggestion: Staff should be trained to listen, take feedback gracefully, and escalate when needed. Avoiding conflict and ensuring customer satisfaction, especially when the customer is right, should be...
Read moreDisappointed today with the service @Takanini branch! Me & 2 of my friends came for lunch today & noticed that our 2 bowls of spicy rice was undercooked, watery(wet), & very salty. I went to the counter & told the lady (wearing the black shirt) about it. She explained it shouldn't be raw because they cook it in the rice cooker & it's watery because they put sauce on it(?). She said she will give me a new one and almost throw them on our table when she served it & left. It was quite rude. Then we realised the new served rice are exactly the same- undercooked, wet, & so salty!! We left with 2 full rice bowls on our table. Why I wrote this review is because we were obviously disappointed. We love Nandos. We always go Sylvia Park, Botany or Manukau. We are very familiar how the food tastes, or cook & serve. Point is, I just hope that staff would consider or give value when a customer complains about the food. Customer come to a restaurant bec they're hungry & wanting to enjoy a meal, not take the food back to the counter because they're not happy & even ended up leaving the food on the table. It's a waste of customer's time & money. If customer say about inconsistency of the food, look into it & maybe cook a completely new one. *We cook our rice in the rice cooker too, we know we have to leave it steam for a while to let it totally cook after the power switch button turns...
