Select Pizza — Restaurant in Papakura

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience in the hope that it leads to improvements.

I placed an order with Select Pizza based in Papakura, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The delivery arrived over 45 minutes late, with no communication or update regarding the delay. By the time the food arrived, it was lukewarm at best.

What was more disappointing was the quality of the pizza itself. The crust was undercooked and soggy, the toppings were unevenly spread, and the cheese was poorly melted — it felt hastily assembled and lacked any care in preparation. It certainly didn’t reflect the standard I expected from an established business.

Mistakes can happen, but the lack of both prompt service and food quality on the same order is unacceptable. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and puts steps in place to ensure better quality control and more reliable delivery in the future.

Very unprofessional staff and misleading service. I placed my order at 12:14 am, and the store updated the Uber Eats app showing that my food was already picked up at 12:30 am and “on the way.” I waited outside in the cold for about 10 minutes, but no one arrived.

When I called the delivery driver to ask about my order, he said it would take more time because the store was “too busy.” However, the app was still showing that my order was delivered, which was completely false information.

I continued waiting until 1:25 am, but nobody showed up. In the end, I had to cancel my order after wasting more than an hour.

This kind of behavior—providing false updates, poor communication, and making customers wait unnecessarily—is unacceptable. They are clearly operating in an unprofessional manner and not following Uber Eats standards.

First time ordering from here as it was the only pizza shop open late on the uber eats app. After looking at the reviews I was hesitant to order but thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt and go ahead. I’m pretty satisfied ! Pizza was nice and hot on arrival, delivery guy was very kind and quick, arrived on time, the 3 large pizza deal was also great savings on money ! The only reason I removed one star is because the vege pizza is actually super spicy ! It isn’t specified that it is a spicy pizza as well, only that it has sweet chilli sauce but this was definitely SPICE ! otherwise all good ! Toppings were plentiful, crust and base were perfect.
