Hello everyone, Date - 26/01/2025 We drove 45 minutes all the way from the west to try this new place, hoping to support an authentic restaurant. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst decisions we’ve ever made. We ordered from their breakfast menu - Chole bathure and Amritsari kulcha with Masala chana. The chole we were served was half cooked, and when we informed two different team members (one of them was Prince), neither of them bothered to do anything about it. We were shocked, especially since ours was the first order of the day, and it was already served poorly. We didn’t want to waste food, but seeing families with kids order the same dish, we thought we should at least raise a concern to avoid anyone getting sick. To our complete shock, no one seemed to care at all. We would have thought everyone would care because they have just opened the restaurant.

We also felt like we were treated poorly because we were dressed casually, as if it mattered. Our concerns were completely ignored, and there was no attempt to address the issue. It’s truly a shame, especially when the restaurant uses names from respected places like Amritsar but fails to reflect the same level of hospitality and service. After reading through other low star reviews, it’s clear that this place has a pattern of poor service and generic, unhelpful responses from the team. No wonder why the restaurant already has close to 10 one star responses. Very disappointing experience definitely not returning back. Its like paying to get disrespect from the staff, I am just hoping nothing happens to the kids who eat from there. Improvement would be re-traing the staff and teaching them to be humble towards customers no matter how they look or dress and cooking food that is fully...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Swad Amritsari with my Dad and son, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The decor beautifully reflects the rich culture of Punjab, setting the perfect backdrop for a delightful meal.

The menu is a treasure trove of authentic Indian flavors, and every dish we ordered was a testament to the chef’s skill and passion. The Dal Makhani was simply awesome. The rich and flavorful malai kofta was a standout, with just the right balance of spices.

The staff at Swad Amritsari were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. They were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to recommend their favorites, which truly enhanced our meal.

To top it all off, the dessert selection is a must-try! The rasmalai cake was the perfect sweet ending to our meal, light and indulgent.

Overall, Swad Amritsari is a gem that deserves every bit of praise. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is sure to impress. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings!...

On the way back from Rotorua, we today went to have dinner with my friends. We saw it on TikTok and looked good, so why not try it.

We order veg thali & non veg thali , keema kulcha & fish pakora as owner recommended us saying its authentic Amritsari.

Veg thali - Dal is on point with no cream - best paneer butter masala and Nutri. Parantha is so crispy and with multiple layers.

Non veg thali - murg makhani is yummy and perfect taste. 2 other chicken dishes were very good too. Keema kulcha was something I never had before so it’s was so much above expectation as I only ate amritsari veg kulcha before. Fish pakora is mouth watering and very crispy with soft inside. First time I see a restaurant made good mint chutney with chilli and no cream or colours.

All in all thanks to owner recommendation food felt it was prepared fresh and was taste so good. So much worth waiting for. We will be surely there to try the Amritsar kulcha for breakfast next weekend.

A must try place if u want authentic food which makes to want to keep coming back.

Only thing I regret is not taking picture to send to all my friends. But I have all ready told few friends to come try your food.

Thank you for amazing food and...

We have been coming here for breakfast for a while now and let me tell you, their breakfast is soooo good. I have eaten from their breakfast menu; Amritsari Kulcha with Masala Chole Amritsari Puri with Chole & Aloo Sabji Masala Chai Fish Amritsari All of them are so delicous man, the fish is lightly fried and so delicous with the spices and the insides flake apart so tender and juicy. The tea is delicous, very concentrated with flavors and not too sweet. The Masala Chole & Aloo Sabji come with so many small condiments that make the dish tastes delicous. You feel so full afterwards. Coming here almost every other weekend. The service is good, the gentleman in front of the register is attentive and informative, we pointed at pictures in the wall and he told us what's in it, when it's served things like that. 9.5/10

We had an amazing dining experience that left us craving more! The starters were absolutely delicious—our kids couldn’t wait to dig in. The Paneer Tikka was perfectly grilled, bursting with smoky flavor, while the Shahi Kebab was tender and rich with spices. The Chicken Lollipops were a hit too, disappearing in no time. For dinner, everything was equally impressive. The Lacha Parantha was a standout—crispy, flaky, and utterly satisfying. The Dal, straight from Kesar Da Dhaba in Amritsar, was as authentic as it gets, with a depth of flavor that transported us right to Punjab. The Nutri Keema Tikka had a unique twist, reminding us of the vibrant street food culture in Amritsar. Overall, a truly delightful meal that captured the essence of traditional Punjabi flavors!

Honestly, the food here has just left me awe. Visited with few friends for dinner on tuesday night. The ambience and hospitality was just superb because of the personal touch they provide. We opted out going for amritsari specialities. The owner himself recommended us amritsari keema naan, murg makhani amritsari, amritsari chaap & nutri keema kulcha. Being a local, I have had butter chicken at most of the restaurants around here in papakura. The murg makhani they make is above all, have it with laccha parantha. 6 of us spent over 200 dollars & its worth every dollar. Went in today and had Aloo parantha plate and chai. Left me wanting for more. Will be back for sure. You have a regular for your murg makhani for sure.
