Great little place at the start of NEV's North Road. Enjoyed a couple of basic meals there in mid-March '17, and my wife was able to grab a couple of GF options. (Beer was icy cold as well. Respect).
Food was very, very edible (though of course you'd expect that, for what is primarily a low-key pizza outlet) and has heaps more fare available than simply, and only, pizza.
As Filadelfio's own publicity states, they're 'New York Inspired (but) Kiwi Loved'. Not entirely sure where they're really heading with that, but it's obvious that they have a metro NY sort of vibe to their interior, and what they offer. It's simple, pleasing and works.
On my first visit, I happened to get to speaking to the owner. Forgotten his name, but he was an easy to talk to dude and seemed really, really happy in his lot.
Recommend Fialdelfio's if you're looking for a low-key, easy going, not-too-expensive meal and cold beer place. Leave any sense of pretense at the...
Read moreA friend and I went for lunch today to Filadefio's North Dunedin. We don't usually step out of our comfort zones but today we did. From the time we walked in to the time we left approx 2hrs later the service was impeccable. Jo (i think that's her name) ewas attentive and kind. Took us both ages to decide what to have. Had the fish and chips(snapper) with salad that had a ginger and coriander vinegarette to die for along side the lemon, tatare yummm...my friend had the spaghetti bolognese and loved it. If that wasn't enough we had dessert and hot drinks. Now that tipped us over, it has taken up until now to recover... In these times I wanted to give credit where it is due. Thanks to Jo and the chef for everything we will be back..hope to see your ginger and coriander vinegarette on the market soon. See you...
Read moreService from older lady was terrible. First we were told to not complicate the gluten free pizza to confuse the chef as he was under pressure. Even though we had specific diet requirements to avoid getting sick. So stuck with one pizza. Upon paying bill was asked how the pizza was. We advised it was “ok”. Then we were told it was because it was “gluten free” and they don’t make it. We were made to feel bad and unweclomed. (The base had nothing to do with it. Our flavour of pizza is what we order everywhere and make at home.) We ate half of it and brought a new one from Hells. Who were very accommodating for our diet needs. The Heineken was flat and not served correctly either. Not a nice...
