The Baaa Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Otago

Came for dinner with just my partner the other night with no intentions to have any alcoholic beverages. We had only ordered burgers but was asked by the cashier to produce ID, despite not having ordered drinks. I had left mine at home so the cashier said I would have to go home and get it. Had to drive all the way home to get it. When I came back and went back up to the counter to produce my ID to a different cashier, i was not even asked for my ID. I ended up ordering an apple juice anyway. Was not happy that I was asked to go home and get it just to not even been IDed by another cashier once I came back. Needs to be some leniency around asking people to produce ID who literally only want food and non-alcoholic beverages. Not impressed. Cashier seemed like she did not want to be there either. Second cashier seemed a lot more enthusiastic...

So what can I say about this place? Well I asked for a Big mac or quarter pounder. Turns out that's not on the menu and I definitely had come to the wrong place. Nevertheless my belly was telling me that I needed food and who am I to argue with my stomach. So I partook in the eating of foods to quench my insatiable hunger. Let me tell you....afterwards I had no craving for either a big mac or quarter pounder. The food was amazing and I have no complaints (other than no big mac's or quarter pounders on the menu) 10/10 absolutely reccomend. Well actually 5/5 because google cant count to 10 stars it seems.

But in all seriousness great place great food....

From the minute we walked in here the staff were AMAZING, we never had to ask for a drink or for service, it was just there when we needed it without having them hovering over you, it's a fine line and they nailed it!!. The serving sizes are on the slightly smaller side but still plenty enough food, the fish was a little bit over battered but otherwise nice, the steak was cooked to perfection but the peppercorn sauce tasted like it wasn't fresh or had been sitting for a few days.
