The Blue Door Bar — Restaurant in South Island

Cosy wee bar up an alley off the main street of Arrowtown. Only open in the late afternoon evening. Great place for a wee pre or post dinner drink before dinner or the movies. Food is available to order but its more bar type food. Stopped in for a cocktail and pizza before the movie. So nice to have the open fire going on a cold spring night. Was sad to have left and missed the live musician. Nice cocktails 🍸 but service wasn't great. Apart from ordering at the bar, had to get your own water too. Only one person working so lucky it...

OK its a bit on the pricey side, but this unique joint in the middle of Arrowtown is a must visit. Lost time of the number of times I have hit my head going in or out of The Blue Door (I am 1.99m and the door must be around 1.60m). Its a wonderfully cool, dark and homely place inside; a cross between an exclusive club and cow barn. What a place ! We been there on a Saturday night as my neighbor recommended. Where to start!?
