Upon leaving I was asked to give a review on Google maps "it would really help us out..." But to be honest, I don't think they really need much more help. All the low scores are from well over a year ago and all of the most recent scores are four stars and above.
I was the first one through the doors as far as I could tell, asked to dine in on my own and was treated with much respect like any other customer. They had a lot of takeaway orders getting cooked and there were delays, but I still felt like I got my entrée and main in an appropriately timely manner. I enjoyed the wait between courses as it helped the entrée to settle and let me reflect on the flavours. One takeaway customer later on looked really disappointed with the delay, but at one time there were 5 takeaway orders, plus my main being cooked - I bet there weren't 6 cooks out the back each doing a meal themselves! I would rather have the perfect Indian curry after a long wait than a badly made curry rushed to me!!
Anyway, my Tandoori Mushrooms, a little on the burnt side, were still hugely enjoyable and served still sizzling hot on the plate. The Bhuna Gosht served with rice was cooked to its tender beef description, and the medium hot chilli had been cooked thoroughly in the curry allowing it to blend in with the flavours, and not burn my throat with the harshness of chilli powder that only gets added at the end. I highly recommend this meal as something different and very tasty!
The majority of takeaway orders that night were Butter Chicken - obviously a popular choice (if a little boring).
The only complaint I have is I wish I and the other dine-in customer had been asked if we wanted music on, because I didn't, and the other customer didn't either and left without ordering. But to be fair, it wasn't too loud and I quickly got used to hearing Indian Popular Music in the background (it was via YouTube on a screen above counter). I also wish I had taken a seat further away from the counter where all the takeaway customers were congregating. But, I was not to know this Thursday night was going to be busy!
All in all, an excellent experience with polite and attentive customer service, very tasty curries, and prices that mostly stay under $20 ranging from $17-$19 - excellent value! Will be back again (but need to do some fasting first to let my stomach make some room...)
Thank you to the chef/s and staff working hard to make a magnificently authentic Indian Curry here in Richmond New...
Read moreHad been advised on the phone very clearly that there were no nuts in the Butter Chicken, and being assured by the person who took our order that the meal was completely nut free, we still had an allergic reaction.
Upon phoning the restaurant to advise that there was in fact nuts in the food and due to this an allergic reaction had occurred due to their negligence, they have denied that this could be the case and hung up the phone.
Pretty awful experience, and very very lucky that the allergy does not cause anaphylaxis. Please review this in future when advising customers. If you can not guarantee there is no nuts, please don’t make false promises...
Read moreVery slow. And food was cool, not hot. Initial service was quite lackluster where they pointed to us to sit wherever. Then waters were brought over. After about ten minutes they checked in and took our order. Our fried onion appetizer came out after ten minutes but was cold. Then we waited over thirty minutes and were actually getting up to leave when our food came out. It was tasty but again not even hot but just warm. One lunch special that was tiny and one full main that was acceptable but neither anywhere near the value. Just left quite disappointed and didn't feel with returning. ...
