Our first visit. And will return. I'm not overly familiar with IndoViet cuisine, so can't assess on that basis.

My wife has very specific and challenging dietary requirements ie vegan, gluten free, no artificial preservatives etc.. So the first thing I noticed was that the menu seems to cater very well for such needs.

The restaurant has a modern feel. Bright and humming atmosphere. Staff are attentive but unobtrusive. No complaints there.

I started with a Riesling. As is typical for kiwi whites, it was served too bl---y cold. Oh well.

We shared a vegan starter, Spring rolls. Not especially exciting, but nice anyway. $12.

My main was a spicy chicken Pho. Flavour was quite unlike anything I've ever had. I'm guessing because of the fish sauce. I liked it very much, although I'd did ask for spicy hot, and it wasn't. Very generous amount of chicken. $28.

Wife had a pineapple curry. She asked for medium and it was hotter than mine. Yes, I did taste it. Evelyn said it was similar to a Japanese Katsu curry. The portion didn't look huge but with the rice by the time she'd finished she was quite full. $29.

Oh, I had a Vietnamese beer with my main. I'm generally underwhelmed by Asian lagers but this was actually nice and refreshing.

Bill in total $90, so a bit dearer than our favourite Indian curry house, but not by much.

Overall a nice meal, and we'll return to try some...

My wife and I decided to come here for the first time last Saturday night. After being seated we sat for over 30 minutes without a menu even being brought to us. It was only after my wife getting the attention of a waiter we were served. Meanwhile others had come in after us, been seated and served. We ordered some starters along with the mains off the Vegan menu. My main order was off the Vegan menu which was stir fried rice due to my egg allergy. Both of our mains were brought out together and on my first mouth full I could clearly taste egg. I brought this to the waiters attention. He said sorry, took the meal away while saying I will get another one made. My wife had to eat her meal as it was getting cold. About 5 minutes after she had finished the replaced meal was brought out to me.

While paying the $108 I made mention again about my egg allergy only for it to be brushed off. I Had stomach cramps later that night due to my allergy. Their incompetence, lack of care and poor service is the reason I will not be back or recommend to anyone. Beware as these type of errors can...

We’ve been on the hunt for authentic Vietnamese food ever since we returned from travelling through Vietnam last August — and we’ve finally found it, right here in Richmond! Idoo Viet Kitchen and Bar absolutely blew us away.

The Phở was incredible — as soon as it hit the table, the aroma instantly transported us back to the streets of Vietnam. It tasted just as it should: rich, comforting, and full of flavour. The Pork Noodles 2-Way were packed with bold, delicious textures, and the Pork Belly Bánh Mì we shared was seriously next-level. Every dish was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully made.

V, our host, was so warm and welcoming, and the vibe of the whole place is spot-on. It has a really cool, modern atmosphere, and the bar looked fantastic — we’ll definitely be staying for drinks next time. We’re already planning our return visit, and we’ll be bringing friends along too. Absolutely...

What a delightful place to happen upon. The service is just the right amount of attentive. The food portions are larger thank expected and beautifully presented. Someone has put considerable effort into choosing serve ware that complements the food. Everything was delicious, well balanced flavors and fresh produce. Highly recommend, will be returning.
