8 of us shared the dishes we thought we would like. Amazingly, we only had two small takeaway dishes left once we had eaten enough. Everyone enjoyed the variety of flavors and dishes.
We ordered 'medium' heat for some of our dishes, but they sadly came out mild.
I usually order a soup, but as we were sharing, I ordered a sizzling plate of prawns. The sauce was very tasty, and I really enjoyed the dish.
Rice - you could change out your rice from plain to a very rich and creamy rice or a simple fried rice. I am usually a coconut rice fan, but I would recommend the fried rice option. It was delicious!
Presentation - The dishes came out presented beautifully, nicely plated, and colorful.
Drinks - it was so nice to have a larger variety of non alcoholic drinks to enjoy. The bubble teas were a good choice, thank you!!
Atmosphere - the decor was okay, our table was retro but the chairs were nice and solid and comfortable.
One large table had a plastic picnic tablecloth on it, which was disappointing. Although it's practical, it does nothing to make the eating experience feel classy, sadly. Some nice cultural music might have made a lovely evening nicer...
Service - Our waitresses looked gorgeous in their matching uniforms and were very polite and patient with us all. Yes, they got our drink and meal orders correct. It took a while for each dish to arrive. However, we were pleasantly surprised to see them looking so nice. Perhaps updating your menu with newer photos of the dishes might be good.
Sadly, although they knew we were sharing our meals, we did not receive small eating dishes or serving utensils with each meal until we had to ask for them again... Clearing of the table could have happened a lot sooner.
They happily refrigerated the birthday cake and ice cream that we brought with us for dessert. Thank you for accommodating us with this request!
All in all, it was a very pleasant evening for everyone who went.
I am actually wanting to come back and try their devine looking soups too! 😋 And maybe some of their more culturally...

Food was excellent. My wife (vegan) had a pineapple curry, again, which she loves. I had a taste and concede it's not bad at all!
I had a traditional Northern Thai dish, see pic. Can't remember the name unfortunately. Crispy pork belly and plenty of it!
We shares a starter, main each, and I had a glass of local vino. $74.
Server was very pleasant, if not a bit sassy which we like!
So no complaints at all, highly recommended, and...
Read more26 and 27 March 2025 - At Kasalong Thai Restaurant in Richmond, I experienced two delightful meals. For dinner, the Tom Kha soup was a comforting blend of coconut milk, lemongrass, and galangal, offering a harmonious balance of creamy and tangy flavors. The next day, the duck noodle soup featured tender braised duck in a rich, aromatic broth, complemented by fresh greens and garlic-infused noodles. Both dishes showcased Kasalong's commitment to authentic Thai cuisine, leaving me eager to return for more...
