A few options of very standard fare in the cabinet, and when ordering a coffee the first response to the customer is whether it would be takeaway. An odd concept to initiate, but inside the shop can be extremely noisy. Outside seating is available but note the harsh nature of the chairs, with their perforated seat -certainly not inviting anyone to stay for very long with the sharp profile. Even the slightest breeze can be cold and the seagulls a menace and health risk - see the photo with the seagull observer attracted by unkempt and uninviting tables. That one would soon make an announcement. Note too that the few umbrellas cover the area between the tables so not any customer at a table. The wifi appears to require a credit card or other personal details even for the 100MB offered for free, but is not listed in the login process.

Stopped in for brunch, I highly recommend the omelette it was delicious and hubby enjoyed the Columbus breakfast and was happy to receive extra bacon to swap out for the pork sausages at no extra charge. His only negative comment was he wished the plates had been warmed up for the food and the food cools down quickly on a cold plate. Other than that very enjoyable. We also had a latte each which was good. Service was friendly and accommodating, premises was clean and tidy with comfortable seating inside or out, today was a hot day so it was pleasant to sit in a well air conditioned area. Thank you

Absolutely appalling experience at Columbus Richmond. $13.50 for a "bacon and egg brioche brekkie roll" and this is what came to the table. A week old McMuffin from McDonalds would have been more enjoyable. Dry as anything, no sauce as advertised (aioli and tomato kasundi) and flat as a pancake (honestly looked as though someone had stood on it before it came out of the kitchen. Sent 3 emails to Columbus and was ignored every time so sharing it here instead. Seriously don't waste your money here!

We went there on Sunday the 18th of Feb. Table no 78 and we were sitting outside. The lady who took our order first time was lovely and had great customer skills. We went inside again the second time to order some more food and this time the lady who served us was very rude and had no manners at all to talk to the customers. When she came outside to serve us the food she commented " oh, you guys cannot decide in one go, can you?" I mean what sort of comment is that and what is wrong if we ordered more food in different instances and not at once. We spent around $80 there and this is how we get treated! Never experienced this sort of behavior before at any cafe we have been to. My friend was surprised and felt humiliated too. The place wasn't busy either and it took them ages to serve us the coffee that was ordered first but we didn't complain.People go out on a weekend for breakfast with their friends and family to share some good time not to be treated this way. It spoiled our weekend and made me upset for the whole day. Thanks to the Columbus Richmond team especially the rude lady for spoiling our day. Also note I am a registered customer of Columbus Richmond. I would not recommend the cafe at all, not after what happened with us. One really unhappy, dissapointed and...

I've been a regular early morning customer for the few months I've lived in the tasman region, after my two latest visits and two rude encounters with their staff member Juliette I think her name was I will no longer be Returning. I was about to order my usual coffee and take away food on one particular morning and asked for a sugar in my takeaway coffee.. she snapped at me and responded sugar is on the table, I asked again if sugar could me added in my cup to save me opening the cup and she said you didn't ask for takeaway..which i clearly stated when ordered...when I received my coffee it was a smaller size than I'd paid for and no sugar was added they had to make another coffee which delayed me for a work meeting..my 2nd visit in the next week was a similar experience with the same person. Maybe customer service is not the right career path for her if this is how Juliette interacts with customers. I will take my trade...
