Bar Savannah — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

I had my 60th here on 01/02/25. A great night was had. The staff are fabulous, the food was great and plentiful. Unfortunately the sound system was out of order so we had to scramble to source our own speaker as theirs wasn’t going to be fixed for my event. Not ideal. On the following Monday it become apparent why there the sound system wasn’t fixed and why the pokies were shutdown… When we enquired about having the $250 fully refundable deposit repaid we were informed that the business had been placed into liquidation that morning and we would have to submit a claim with the liquidator for the deposit. It’s unlikely we’ll receive any of it. Again, not ideal! None of this was known by the staff and is absolutely NOT their fault, they’ve been blindsided too. Horrible experience, felt shaken and offended as to how we were treated.

Started off ordering a drink, the guy we were dealing with was great, he had already opened a beer for my husband (as he could see we were of legal age - due to common sense)

My husband went to the car to get his pool cues, upon entering we were asked for ID by some lady (presumably the owner), when we had realised we had forgotten them, she was not polite at all about it, instead telling us to get off her premises and asking for “her pool cues back” after clearly seeing him enter with them, followed by telling us to F off!!!

Would never ever recommend this place to anyone. No wonder they have such terrible reviews!!!

I went on a Monday afternoon, so it was very quiet. It looks like a lovely place, where people can hang out and catch up. There's TVs everywhere, pool tables, and a designated smoking area. There are two big outdoor areas, which is lovely in summer. I did think that $10 was quite steep for a beer, even if it was imported. I also thought the food menu was a bit dear, so I didn't order food. I asked the one lady if I could take some photos, and she said yes. But then the (I think owner) got upset and asked why I was taking photos. It's still think it is a nice place, which somewhat reminds me of home (South Africa). The decor was a bit typical and...
