We ordered Cashew stir fry, it came with only vegetables in it and no sign of cashews. We called them, they did not answer hence we emailed them about it. Their reply was that we will get a cashew credit (means they’ll add some cashews on our next order). My question is, if you order a chicken based dish and if chicken was missing, would you offer a ‘chicken credit’ on the next order?
After asking this question they asked us to bring back the dish if we hadn’t eaten more than half of it (which we hadn’t) and they would refund $9.75 (half price). Who’s going to pay for the fuel to go back? Who’s going to replace the disappointing experience we had when we were really looking forward to enjoying our takeaway dinner on the weekend after a long week? Don’t waste your time with these scammers.
The food ordinary, the quantity of the food is less than what you normally get with other Thai takeaways and it’s overpriced. Do not recommend this at all, you’ll get a far better range of Thai takeaways if you drove 10 mins and go to Greenhithe or Albany instead.
P.s - By the looks of it, owner is used to giving pathetic excuses and arrogant replies to the reviews that are opportunities for improvement.
*Replying to the owner - If you can’t put cashews in your dish that you sell as ‘Cashew Stir Fry’ then stop calling it that and charging the premium price for it. If you can’t replace the customer’s dish with what they’ve paid for instead of penalizing them to come back to your shop for half a refund then stop being in the hospitality business. This is not the first time you’ve done this with your takeaway orders, read other reviews. It could be only 1 takeaway worth $19.50 for you but for me it was something I was really looking forward to enjoying. At the end of the day it’s not about money only, the arrogance is appalling, it’s how you treat your customers. Keep the money. We wish you good luck...
Read moreThe service here is very below average and I would only rate it on par with any takeaways. Definitely wouldn't dine here given the prices on the menu. The prices by no means reflect the premium food you would expect from a Thai restaurant.
Much more humble Thai restaurants in Mt Eden, New Market, Ponsonby and Mission Bay are cheaper and more authentic.
Garlic and pepper chicken stir fry was ok, nothing to complain about but Pad See Ew Chicken was 90% egg and 10% chicken, I am sure the menu didn't say egg noodles. When we mentioned this at payment we were told they will inform the chef but there was nothing else offered.
I always wanted to try the Kumeu branch as that seems more premium from outside, but not dining at Hobsonville again
Warning: If the owner responds with pathetic comments in defense and provide justifications as seen below with other reviews, he/she will be ignored, public can make a judgement to visit this restaurant at their...
Read moreWent to dinner tonight to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary. The welcome w sgreat. We all know how covid 19 has affected the hospitality industry but these guys did well. It was a busy evening. Calm, warm and great atmosphere.
We had fish cakes and prawn spring rolls for starters which was nice then for dinner we had lamb rack and pad Thai. Nice sauce for the lamb but the pad Thai was a bit or much sauce.
Afterwards, there was a couple of pākeke celebrating their birthday. The host was very kind and surprised them all with a cake and candles. This was a very special moment especially when they ( birthday person) wa snot expecting it. I really had a goid time here and we all sung and clapped as we joined in celebration, 89 years old. A very special evening.
