I enjoy coming here at least 3 to 4x a month with family.. my son's fav place so far, my daughter and hubby thinks it's surprisingly ok place that we keep coming back inspite many oprtions around. Coffee was almost always burnt but we don't mind as we were there to enjoy time with family and support local business. Some waiting required but again not fussed because of lovely company. But when someone says let me get your chopsticks for you, when obviously your serving European food and we are of asian descent inspite my hubby being a Kiwi, was not quite funny as you think . There is a time and a place where you can inject your so called humour and sound funny.... but this time it wasn't. It left us with a bad taste.. and considering you are of asian descent as well.. i don't understand how one could make others feel uncomfortable and different.. I myself have a hospitality business much elaborate than a cafe..and we always treat people in general from all walks of life with utmost respect not because they're customers. A bit disappointed really... as we have been in this country for so long. My sons 22 and daughter turning 21.. inspite of that, I taught my grown up kids to be respectfull, so we always say thank you.. and you always say to us "pleasure". i hope we were a real pleasure to serve and not much...
Read moreGood morning Brian,
It was our first time here (for breakfast) after moving into Hobsonville Point. Upon arriving at 9am today, we ordered one cappuccino, Butter milk pancakes with Bacon & Chicken Burger. The food was great and very fresh. Coffee was a ok but a little less water would be great. If not for the below, it would be a 5/5 for us. Service and time wise not so great- took half an hour. Eventually, we had to follow up several times and no one thought it would be a good idea to at least say, hey sorry about the wait and did not seem interested. They also checked our reciept to ensure I wasn't making things up re delay of our food, which was very weird. It was a bit dissapointing. In anycase, great location, food was great and we would come back again with the hope and no doubt get better:) Perhaps if time is not on our side, better to get the shelf food only? At the time of this post, we didn't feel to good about it, but it was based on how today went for us. Maybe it was a bit harsh, we updated it to 3/5. Sorry.
All the best and Happy new...
Read moreVery disappointing. Ordered big breakfast. Nice waitress asked how I would like my eggs. I told her. When it came was one egg. I said not pleased you said eggs (plural) she said she would ask. Then owner or manager came out and was rude saying 'it only says egg (singular) on menu and its cheap already ($19 something) I'll give you another egg but it'll cost you $2.50" So if not for his manner I would've given them a 3 out of five. Sausage was yum beans were nicely spiced but tepid (not hot) and was a desert spoon only, rest was average.
$2.50 for a 50c egg? Only one egg on a big breakfast is stingy. To be rude about it after a customer compliance.. Nah. There's heaps of cafes nearby. I'll keep b...
