A hidden gem in Clyde, definitely one of the must-go cafes in New Zealand. The building used to be a bank, you wouldn’t realise it was an amazing local cafe behind the closed door. The owner kept a part of the history as decorations, like the phone, door and BNZ sign, really appreciated. We had a pork belly bun and cottage pie as bunch. The pork belly was incredibly delicious, with the blue cheese and chutney a prefect match. The pie was hot and rich in favour, it was absolutely a splendid choice in a cold morning. There was a small grocery corner selling local produces, the homemade sauce and chutney were really good. Highly recommend!

I have thought about this meal so many times since dinning there four days ago! Accurate sign it was amazing! And it really was. The BF's steak was delish accompanied with celeriac mash - yum! My fish of the day - monk fish, was outstanding. Priced on point and not a chip in sight 😊. Have recommended to many that they must go! Make sure you book to avoid disappointment 👍

This is a hidden gem in terms of culinary destinations. A world class chef and very impressive menu. Husband and wife Werner and Wendy have a great Restaurant with Wendy front of house and Werner as chef. Service and food impeccable. Beautifully presented with local wines to complement.

The last time I visited The Bank was a cafe. We were booked in as our lovely elderly lady who lives in Alexandra recommended we go there. If you are looking for an intimate restaurant, serving first class cuisine - then look no further.

We ordered the duck, absolutely delicious and the lemon cheesecake was the most scrumptious dessert I have had in a very long time. Our guest had the ginger, apricot, vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

Out of 10 - in our opinion it’s an 11. This quant unassuming Restaurant most certainly shows up as world class.

Thank you so much, your scrumptious lemon cheesecake recipe - was lost in my mind as I was so impressed with everything.

A definite must, I would highly recommend and suggest you...

A Must-Visit Gem

We recently had dinner at The Old Clyde Bank, and it absolutely hit the spot! I had the fish of the day, which was cooked to perfection—light, fresh, and bursting with flavor. My husband ordered the duck, and every bite was spot-on. Both dishes were pure ‘chef’s kiss’ delicious.

The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the staff were friendly without being over the top, and everything just felt easy and enjoyable. If you’re after great food in a relaxed, down-to-earth setting, this is the place to go. Highly recommend making a reservation—it’s popular for all the right reasons.

We’ll...
