Johnny's Tairua — Restaurant in Waikato

We made a phone order to pick up on our drive home Easter Monday. We ordered the wings, a cheese and garlic pizza, fries and a Johnny burger. This place has now become our favourite takeaway when doing our beach trip. The wings were cooked beautifully and covered with a combination of bbq sauce and some sort of mayo, kids gave them a 10/10. Hubby rated the burger as the best he has had in a long time, his only complaint was that it was huge and hard to eat while on the go. Fries were very tasty and a good portion size.

Customer service was fantastic - so nice to receive a smile from the other side of the counter!!

During a camping trip in Coromandel i stumbled across Johnny's Tairua with my partner, spoke to about three of the workers and everyone was really friendly i tried the johnnys burger and the oreo shake and it was probably the best burger ive ever had with perfectly cooked juicy patties and delicious onion rings on the burger, their special sauce is the bomb. my partner had already bought her lunch from across the road but when she tasted my burger she had to buy one as well because it was so good, my only issue with it is its so far from where i live haha but i will be coming back to Tairua again just to stop and grab a...

An extremely infuriating experience—absolute racial discrimination. They refused to serve us just because we are Asian. We ordered two tacos and waited for a full hour, while people who arrived later than us kept getting their food. Every time we asked, they claimed those were phone orders. Even after countless “phone orders,” they still didn’t serve us until we stood at the counter and refused to leave.

When we finally got our food, the tacos contained only coriander, purple cabbage and no other vegetables. The fish was overcooked, drenched in oil, and had a burnt taste. We will never visit this...
