Prime Roast — Restaurant in Waikato

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Prime Roast and was thoroughly impressed with my meal. The lamb and pork were cooked to perfection - juicy, tender and bursting with flavour. The meats were certainly the highlight of the meal and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious meaty meal.

The gravy served with the meats was also quite flavourful and complemented the meats well. However, the carrots were a bit of a let down. It seemed like they had been left in the warmer for too long and were overcooked. This was a bit disappointing, but it did not take away from the overall experience.

The portion sizes were incredibly generous and I left feeling completely satisfied. The prices were also reasonable considering the high quality of food that was served. It was Sunday and felt like a roast dinner. Walked in and asked for a lamb roast - "sorry no lamb". Choose instead two beef roasts. Asked for "Yorkshire puddings" - "sorry no Yorkshire puddings". Then the serving staff said did we want mashed potato as they had no roasters available for 8 minutes. We choose to pay and wait. We also also asked for mustard that again was not available. After sitting down we were told they had run out of beef so had pork. We then waited for the meal. What came out was meat plus 3 different varieties of potatoes and not a vegetable in sight. 10/10/20 What a huge disappointment our meals were this visit. Our family visit Taupo 4 time a year and always have at least two lunches and one dinner at this store. We have eating here since the store opened and have thoroughly enjoyed all our meals...that is until Friday 10/10/20. We ordered 5 medium takeaway roast pork meals. They all ended up in the bin.
