Had dinner here with 2 other people, after the Taupo Summer Concert on Anniversary Weekend. Ordered the $20 scotch fillet meal with chips and salad. Creamy pasta was ordered by the others. It was extremely busy at nearly every bar and eatery in Taupo. So we weren't surprised when it took awhile to place an order, get drinks, get our food etc. It didn't matter, because the vibe was great, and the drinks (recommended by the barman), went down well. And when we did get our food, we weren't disappointed. My scotch fillet was beautifully cooked, chips were crispy and salad, tasty. Not an ideal experience. Was in at 8:30 for breakfast, ordered 2 eggs Benedict with bacon, received one eggs Benedict without bacon, they just looked at my partner blankly for a minute or so then asked if she was waiting on anything, "yes the second order of eggs Benedict with bacon" (the waitress confirmed our order back to us originally). After a further wait another order come out minus the bacon again. The eggs were quite undercooked(runny clear etc). Horrible horrible food! Me and a friend went for dinner. The front staff were lovely and very helpful, made us feel welcomed and we thought it would be a great experience. The food was so disgusting and ripped off! My skinny piece of salmon and 2 fried eggs were $26. My hubby got a steak (cooked as requested) and a palm sized salad for $26.
