Pros- Very Spacious never felt cramped, Came with everything you needed for the kitchen even milk, They cleaned well enough to be satisfied (They even did our dishes), Bathtub was very large and nice, Housekeepers were friendly, Location was very convenient (We never had to drive to get any meals or even do some shopping), Management was quick and efficient, They gave a nice bottle of wine and chocolates for us on Christmas, Enough Windows that allowed alot of light into the room, Very Close to the swimming/picnic area of the lake
Cons- Thin Walls (We didn't mind but our roommates would sometimes angrily bang a wall because we were watching movies at a moderate level), Air Conditioning is not upstairs and difficult to use (We had to place a fan at the bottom of the steps to blow it up), Not the motels fault but our view was ruined by some trucks and mini carnival next to the mini golf, Some ugly paint cracking, peeling especially in bathrooms, Minimal Restocking of some items such as bar soap. Advertised that you would be able to do your own laundry but then told that management has to do it for you, The parking lot is scarily tight,
Overall it was a our home away from home and with the price you are offered it is very reasonable and luxury in comparison on what you can get in other places. We were very...
Read moreWe got the two bedroom family apartment. Perfect for a family of 6. Has everything you need when staying away on holiday. Was nice, clean and warm. Kitchen had all the utilities we needed and we were able to cook on the stove top. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. There is also a laundry room to do washing which was a plus, $5nzd per load . Make sure to take your own washing powder. Perfect location with lake views and walking distance to city centre and restaurants close by. Surrounded by a tone of dining options to pick from. Outdoor spa was lovely especially on the nippy mornings. However, it could be a little hotter and the outdoor pool is not heated but kids still had fun. Parking was a little tight so be careful. On our lastnight we upgraded to the premier two bedroom family suite as we wanted to extend our stay. Apartment is similar to the two bedroom family one except it has a toilet upstairs and a hot tub in the main bedroom which was awesome for us parents to relax in and have a wee break from the kids. Downstairs has couches instead of a double bed. But everything else the same. This place was most definitely family friendly and good value for money. We will stay here again and recommend to our family and friends....
Read moreWe were forced to book this room as one of the only available alternatives after a cyclone closed all roads leading to Hawke’s Bay. While the town of Taupo seems like a fun place for recreational activities (fishing, boating, cycling, IronMan competition, etc.), it generally seems to offer much better lodging than this property.||While the location was convenient, near the CBD and lake, the rooms and clientele left a lot to be desired. The walls were paper thin, the neighboring guests were loud and in general seemed sketchy. On the bright side, the room was clean and sanitary. Free on-site parking and swimming pool with above ground 6 person spa tub (neither of which were used by us). The seating area directly outside our sliding glass door was narrow and shared in common with all other adjoining rooms which provided zero privacy but abundant opportunities for second-hand smoke.||Not our...
