I had an extremely upsetting experience at Mojo Coffee on Molesworth Street. After waiting over 20 minutes for a smoothie while watching others receive their orders ahead of me, I politely asked the red-haired staff member about the delay. Her response: “People like you have to wait.” She then slammed the fridge door and walked away. There was no apology, no explanation.
This wasn’t an isolated moment of rudeness—it felt deeply personal. I’ve noticed on previous visits that she doesn’t ask for my name when calling orders, while she does for others. This time, when I said I felt I was being treated differently, she turned away without a word and refused to give her name when I asked how to report her. I’ve contacted management and am awaiting a response.

They have a reasonably high staff turnover but the ones that stay longer are super friendly and know you by name fairly quickly, and I have had lots of good chats with the guys and gals there...
Read moreExcellent early franchise in the Mojo chain that serves its locals very well. Strong history of good baristas is maintained, and their personalisation of the ordering process quickly makes you feel like a valued customer.
Recently updated their menu offerings to have a good range of savouries and sweets, to ensure no one is hungry - though some of the Ministry of Health officials good definitely do without the temptations!
Go here for good coffee and enjoy 270 degrees of people watching as the sun streams through the windows...
