We booked an 8:30 PM table on Valentine’s Day, thinking it would be late enough to avoid the dinner rush. We couldn’t have been more wrong.
Upon arrival, we were told the wait for food would be 30 minutes—which seemed reasonable. While our entrées arrived fairly quickly, we then waited a staggering TWO HOURS for our mains. Looking around, it was clear we weren’t the only ones—several tables sat foodless and frustrated.
After 90 minutes, I got up to ask a staff member for an update. The manager then appeared with a random plate of risotto we didn’t even order, telling us our meals were “plating next” and we could have this in the meantime. Excuse me??? After waiting this long, why would we want to eat something else and fill up right before our actual meals finally arrived?
When our mains eventually came, they were disappointingly average—and worse, the lamb was undercooked, clearly rushed through in an attempt to catch up.
To the restaurant: If you’re running a special occasion menu, please don’t also run your full menu at the same time. Combining this with a heavily booked restaurant and takeaway orders—all while being clearly understaffed—was a recipe for disaster.
Our only compensation was two free drinks. By that point, it was so late that I didn’t even drink mine, I just wanted to leave.
Overall, a completely disorganised and frustrating experience. There is no excuse for two-hour wait times. What an...
Read moreWe booked a table for 6:30 PM, but upon arrival, we were made to wait for half an hour. Our experience was a mixed bag. The entrees were enjoyable, and one of the main courses was average. However, the scotch fillet was a letdown. I specifically requested medium-rare, but when I cut into the meat, I was excited to see the pink-red color. Unfortunately, the first bite revealed a burnt, crunchy layer on top, which was masked by the garnishes.
What was more disappointing was the manager's response. Despite the long wait for our table and food (45 minutes), the manager took the dish back to the kitchen, only to return with the same plate, insisting it was cooked medium-rare. When I asked for a replacement, my request was flatly denied. To make matters worse, the manager didn't even offer an apology.
The only redeeming aspect of our experience was the excellent service from our waitress and bartender, which is why I'm giving this review three stars. When I went to pay the bill, another team member kindly offered to remove the scotch fillet from the bill, but I declined and paid in full. I believe this gesture, although appreciated, didn't make up for the kitchen's mistakes and the manager's poor handling of the situation.
Overall, our experience was marred by disappointing food and subpar service...
Read moreAfter reading so many good reviews on google I took my wife and kids for dinner last Wednesday . Well that was not a good start. As soon as I parked the car outside I could see people standing outside smoking by the door...you don’t want to see restaurant staff smoking by the door do you? Interior is nice and modern but no atmosphere. Reception was a bit frosty and not very friendly. Menu looks like an upmarket restaurant chain and service was a bit erratic. Maybe too many tables all crammed together and not enough privacy. My wife had the ragout pasta which was good although a bit on the tepid side and kids enjoyed the pizza. I was really tempted to try some pizza but the ridiculous supplement charges (extra toppings) really put me off. $4 dollar for basil on a pizza? Liked the draught beer but we won’t be rushing back. It’s a shame as we dine out a lot and always on the look out for new places but this is not what we...
