I ordered through Uber Eats, but unfortunately, one of the main dishes was missing upon delivery. When I called the restaurant to address the issue, I was told to either reorder through Uber Eats or request a refund, as they couldn’t deliver the missing item. While this is understandable, we had hoped for a more proactive and accommodating response from the restaurant.
By the time we realized the issue, it was too late for a refund, and ordering from elsewhere was impractical. Reluctantly, we agreed to pick up the dish ourselves. Given that we had already paid for delivery, we expected the restaurant to acknowledge the inconvenience and offer a small gesture to compensate for the trouble. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. It’s disappointing when a business fails to understand that small acts of goodwill can go a long way in retaining loyal customers. Instead, we felt overlooked and left to deal with their mistake without any effort on their part to make amends.
To make matters worse, the dish we picked up—the wat tan hor—was not up to standard. It was overly gluey, suggesting it had been rushed during preparation. The restaurant wasn’t even busy when we arrived; only one table was occupied, and the staff seemed quite relaxed.
This experience left a sour taste, especially on Boxing Day. While I might give the restaurant another chance after some time, it’s hard to forget the sense of being let down and undervalued...

I was optimistic with this one. First, the positives. Brilliant welcome by a warm host. Environment is clean; nothing fancy, which is all you really need. You get served a hot glass of tea upon arrival 👍.
As for the food: Prawn Noodle Soup was a winner, spicy soup and generous portion of Prawns. Fried Kuay Teow was passable; portion on the small side, but adequate. To be brutally honest, I would not bother with the Mei Cai Stewed Pork Belly. The meat was overcooked and therfore dry, not moist, and the preserved vegetable tasted bland, without the characteristic oomph it delivers to this dish. Homemade Yong Tau Foo - I was so hoping they'd do well here, but have to say that you'd be better off giving this a miss. Portion was awfully small too.
With so many more Asian Malaysian Eateries to choose from nowadays, they'll have to up their game to become a...
Read moreWe came by for dinner. The restaurant is located on Great North Road close to the Rata Street/Titirangi Road intersection. There are quite a few parking spots on the street. The restaurant isn't very big but we were able to get a table without booking. The menu on the wall has the same items as the actual menu. We grabbed a few items to share including the yong tofu, which is one of their specialty dish. We grabbed a wat tan hor, mee goreng and the yong tau foo on rice. The wat tan hor was quite nice since the rice noodles had a slight char taste and the gravy was nice. The mee goreng was also nice with bits of crackling in it. The yong tau foo was interesting and I did like it. It came with a spicy bean sauce and there was a series of different items filled with the fish paste. The food here is cooked quite nicely and I also noticed they had silver needle noodle which is also called a rat tail noodle. Certainly a nice place for...
