This is one hell of a great supermarket it beats the hell out of Woolworths the produce is better the delicatessen is great and generally it has a much better lighting and the staff are very helpful it's just all around better place to shop the prices are much similar to Woolworths but everything is a bit better and sometimes a lot better than Woolworths it's situated very close to the apartments at the back each supermarket has their Plus points countdown has more parking And is situated right in the middle of lynnmall and there is a lot of things in Lynn mall that are good new world is the standalone shopping complex but generally the food is much better but I wonder how many people have tried to get these little stickers for these smeg utensils and find out that they have just finished with me I'm not a big shopper I might buy $40 at a time I buy some pet food and some treats and maybe some cheese but today I felt totally gutted I have been buying as much as I could to get one of these dishes a baker to make some roasted vegetables Aura spinach and cheese pie and I needed 40 stickers I have 36 I just found out that they have just decided to end this promotion to my dismay I feel totally ripped off I wonder how many other people out there filled the same way each sticker is $20 and I have purchased 36 stickers that's 36 x 20 dollars it would have been nice to give people a chance to continue or even give free ones but no not New world seems like the supermarkets are out to just take what they can from us oh well don't get sucked in by the hype countdown is the same though for every $1,000 you spend you get enough for a block of cheese but I thought that new world could do a little better while the owners sit back and sun themselves in Bali and enjoy a good holiday it would be so good to give something back to the community shame on you new world in my opinion you have hit an...
Read moreI am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at New World New Lynn. As a loyal customer who has shopped here for years, spending thousands annually, I was shocked by the unprofessional behavior of a checkout operator named Hope on 26/07/2024.
Hope's demeanor was unfriendly and unhelpful. Despite my attempts to be polite, she was dismissive and did not assist with bagging my items. What was most troubling was her response after the transaction: she rolled her eyes when I thanked her and said goodbye, which made me feel humiliated and unvalued.
It felt as though Hope's behavior was intentionally meant to undermine my confidence, making me feel as though I was at fault. This experience has led my family and me to reconsider our shopping preferences. We are now contemplating switching to Countdown due to this unprofessionalism.

Read moretoday i asked a staff member to swipe the 'store card' to access the special prices whilst going through the self scan, she informed me they do not do this, i found this strange as i have been able to do this on multiple occasions in the past few months.
I asked to speak with the manager (Nisha) who agreed it wasnt very customer friendly and she was just following store protocol.
It seems very strange that a business would go out of their way in inconvenience the customer. i then had to line up at a checkout (with 2 items) so i could give my phone number. What a complete waste of time!
I also would have thought it was better for the business for customers to use the self checkout - saving on staff costs etc. can you please confirm this is your policy?
