Amala Central is one of a kind eatery in Abuja. Located in a hidden corner in the Central Business Area of Abuja. Independence Ave is an off street which is not usually a thoroughfare. U must've a business in that area to be there or know it. The best description or direction is that it shares fence with Reiz Continental Hotel. The location which is like an upscale Abuja Park has several eateries, a car wash & a car lot. Amala Eatery stands out. It is a small place compared to other Abuja amala joints. But it is way ahead in organization & sound administration. Enough hands everywhere, limited queuing & waiting time, then see varieties of local Nigerian & continental delicacies with assorted proteins. The amala that I bought was so hot that I had to ask for a spoon to eat it, which is quite against convenient wisdom of devouring amala. The food was steaming, fresh & tasty. Though, not too big a place compared to mega amala joints in town, but the place was sparkling clean. Serviettes & toothpicks were in excess & scattered all over the place unlike what obtains in similar establishments. Clean wash hand basins were plenty with furiously runing water & canisters of liquid soap. Enlarged photos of prominent Nigerian traditional rulers were prominently displayed on the walls. The Sultan of Sokoto, Obi of Onistha, Ooni of Ife, Etsu Nupe..... u name them. Reminds one of home now matter where home is to one ! Clean convenience located not too far away. But...but something could be done about saucing their assoeted proteins. Not a Perfect World, but this is definitely a...

I tried multiple amala outlets in Abuja and I decided that I liked Amala Central the best. Their food is very delicious. Their portions are very big. If you don't eat much, 2 wraps of Amala will be enough for you compared to what you'll get in other places. Their goat meat is worth the price. Pounded yam is tiny though, so you'll need more than 2 but it is made with real yam not poundo. I'll visit Amala central again and again anytime I'm next in Abuja.

The only snag here is it can take a while to get payment done for your food especially during rush hour when there's a lot of people. I thought that process can be improved because sometimes you stand there with your food getting cold while you wait to pay. Other than that, this is the best Amala joint in Abuja in my own opinion.

Oh, I also ordered from them through Chowdeck and their delivery was flawless. So anytime I couldn't go in person to their outlet, I would just order in....

I love this place! The food is great and the restaurant is so clean and has a big parking space. The restroom is squeaky clean and there’s water. There is also a delivery service point outside. You have to make payment with POS or Cash, they do not take transfer. It’s just 2mins drive away from BOI. It has the local and modern vibe We had porridge yam, rice and beans and several assorted proteins. Would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Abuja 👍 Hope to visit again soon 😀

It's best for you and the staff if you ordered your food online. There's usually a large crowd if you visited the location personally to get your food. The response online is swift and you get your food delivered just in time. The price list is also very fair. I had fried rice and plantain twice but it was much better the first time. The second time, the rice tasted undercooked and bland for reasons I do not know. Asides that, I'd recommend you trying out this spot next time.
