Silk Road Restaurant Abuja — Restaurant in Central Business District

Silk Road is arguably the largest Chinese restaurant in Abuja, with an equally long menu. From meat to seafood to vegetarian, and rice to pasta dishes, there is a wide range to cater for different palates.

From the sweet to the peppery, each dish type offers a variety so that you get something for people who are a diverse group.

I really enjoyed the sweet dishes like the sweet fried beef which sed to have been fried in its own fat, as well as the spicy and hot peppery dishes like some of the seafood dishes

The portions are large and the dishes are really tasty, served hot and the veggies retain freshness and taste whether blanched or fried

Silk Road has large public dining areas as well as private dining rooms. Private dining rooms have karaoke machines which are free for diners until about 10pm. The range of music isn’t very wide but it does add to the fun

Service was the major drawback and persisted right up to billing which added a out 30 minutes to our departure time.

Absolutely Abysmal food when comparing to the price. Definitely a place that prioritises optics rather than food quality. With questionable large print photos of celebrities and high government officials plastered all over their entrance. They were also some unsettling predatory pricing strategies such as charging per spring roll in stead of a portion. Bill came out to 170,000 naira for just 5 people. I will they the serving portions are fairly large but they had better been for the heavily marked up price. The only main dish that rendered an empty plate was the egg fried rice. 1st time I visited there with some friends, the service was awesome. Apparently because the owners were around. Fast forward to today, I decided to go with my family, called in the morning to book a private room and on getting there at the appointed time at 4pm March 31st, 2021, the gentleman who recieved us wasn't welcoming and then Ruth came to take over and informed us that we weren't booked. We decided to sit at the general area and they all appeared very unhappy and unpleasant. . We decided to leave, not encouraged to eat in such environment because of their attitude.
