Absolute pasta perfection from @thegridlagos ——————————————————————— MY ORDER Seafood pasta - ₦4,000 Gizzdodo - ₦1,500 Chicken wings - ₦1,500 Tequila shots. - ₦1,000 per shot Chicken Suya - ₦1500 ——————————————————————— MY REVIEW First off, I liked the structure of this restaurant, it had different sections for different vibes. If you are with friends, there’s a room. If you’re on a date? there’s a section of the restaurant for you, if you want low key & don’t want to be seen, there’s another section for you. So yeah I liked how they cater to different vibes.
Let me say this? If you don’t like pepper! Let them know. I didn’t have problems with the pepper content in the food. My friend did.
So I started off with the chicken wings - I liked that it was peppery, well seasoned & most importantly juicy. With the gizdodo - I liked that both had equal quantities - none was more than the other. This was tasty & spicy as well, it was moist ,it wasn’t dry.
Menu of the day? - Seafood Pasta - pasta perfection! I had tried their pasta sometime last year, & I kid you not, they are consistent with the taste. Even though this year, It had only shrimps which is weird because they called it seafood pasta. I thought the pasta tasted really good, it had a perfect balance of creamy, cheesy& peppery.
With the chicken Suya? Please dears, if you’d like to die by choking? Be their guest! 😂 it was so dry & hard to chew. My jaw legit gave up on me. And yes! That’s how it was served (check last slide) 😂 In regards to price - I thought their prices were really reasonable & super affordable.
I thought their service was way below average, the person that attended to us? There was a lot of back & forth which was exhausting. I also thought wait time for drinks was long. Plus I found it weird that shots were served in wine glasses 🤷🏾♀️
I had 2 highlights coming here - the food & the environment, all sections of the restaurant had very cool arts/frames on the wall. I was particularly mesmerized by the drawing of the girl...

Although in the place where my friend and I sat it was just the both of us and another couple, but I could just imagine how choked up it would have been if they were more people in the room given the space and the amount of chairs there.
Food: I ordered seafood pasta while my friend ordered shredded chicken penne pasta (or something that looks like that on the menu)
Price: Seafood Pasta was #5000 while the chicken pasta went for #4000.
For affordability, I think it is quite affordability. Now I know that cheap is also relative but you would agree with me that with the hike in prices of basic commodities in Nigeria, #5,000 for a good plate of food, fair atmosphere and if you are lucky like me and have a great company, is a decent deal and a win.
Taste: My seafood pasta was good. With each fork full came calamari and prawn (if I am not mistaken). They were not stingy with the seafood. Also I feel like the consistency of the creamy base of my pasta was okay. Not too liquid for it to run just okay when it was still hot. Although I must add that it became a bit too thick for my liking when the pasta was no longer steaming hot. I also like that I could feel the spiciness. You could tell the pepper was there. Not too spicy to be overwhelming. Just perfect. However, I feel that with a little pitch the seasoning would have been too much. But again they didn't add too much so it was okay.
I had water with my pasta and that cost #300. My friend had pineapple juice and that cost #2000.
Music: All through our stay songs were being played over the speakers. I am not so much of a circular music person but it was not too loud to overwhelm me. Loud enough to be enjoyed, not too loud to be an interference. You can still have conversations with friends (if you didn't go alone) and hear each other.
Overall, it was an...
Read moreLOCATION : The Grid is quite easy to locate, it is inside a street not on the major road, when you see it you won't miss it. Parking is outside the compound (on the street).
AMBIENCE: I liked the outdoor space with the wooden chairs and tables, green carpet grass and the Fela graffiti. Gives it a very arty vibe, I heard they have karaoke outside in the evening, that should be fun.
The indoor space isn't very big but it is comfy and there is an inner room which can seat about 15 people (private room) in case you want to have private dining or meetup. Waiter assigned to us was courteous and nice.
FOOD: The menu at the Grid was nice. Fries, rice, fish, Turkey, chicken and the likes. Prices are friendly and affordable , you can have a good meal with 3000 Naira.
Waiting time before the food arrived was about 20mins. Apparently as the time we arrived, because we went as a group, we were the only diners in the restaurant, more people came later on.
Food quantity was worth the amount paid and it tasted nice. We ordered Gizdodo, Fried Rice and Chicken Lap, Potato wedges and Chicken and Drinks. No negative complaint from anyone concerning the food, generally would rate them 7/10.
COSTUMER SERVICE: When we entered the restaurant and while we waited, the manager or the person in charge for the day kept walking past us and looking at us. We expected her to at least talk to us or ask if anyone had attended to us because when you have customers, the least you can do is to approach them and make them feel at ease. The manager or heads at the Grid need to improve on this because customer service can either make or mar a business.
Summary: Will I like to go back? Yes, I will definitely and make go for Karaoke night as well.
Welldone...
