Reception.||I visited Westown hotel 2 weeks ago. Check-in was very quick and the receptionist are very professional and friendly. I stayed for 3 nights which I really enjoyed.||||Rooms.||The room that I was offered was very clean n furniture very comfortable. The bathroom and toilet very clean and this was what I liked most about the hotel. The management could consider changing of blinds/curtains as the room I was offered 301,by 7am the sun is too bright hence if you had a late night and wanted to sleep more the light effect could be a distraction. The TV has wide range of local and international channels.||||Restaurant and Food.||Service staff are professional and very friendly. I enjoyed the breakfast and the Sunday Buffet was amazing with fresh food at a very affordable price. The Thai restaurant on the rooftop had the best food too.The pool bar location is fantastic for outdoor relaxation. However on a weekend I thought the closing time was rather too early for guest who like to stay late and have a drink before retiring to bed. Swimming pool very clean.||||Wi fi||The internet was very fast and free ,this enabled me to work and catch some fun too.||||Security.||Very professional and friendly.||||In general i would rate my stay 9/10.To mention few staff that had exceptional service, The Food abd Beverage manager Mr Nashon,Mr Julius,Kelvin,Douglas and Henry in the Laundry. They made my stay comfortable. I would come again and again and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Ikeja. You get more and pay less. Excellent service beyond my expectation.||||THANK YOU WESTOWN STAFF :)..KEEP IT UP..I WILL...
Read moreThe hotel is a typical example of "do not judge a book by its cover." The external feature of the hotel is not a good representation of the exquisite interior features and awesome professional services.
The staff are indeed professional and have an efficient system in place to escalate issues and provide prompt feedback. This was our experience when booking, which then required some alterations later.
Checking was a breeze after the warm welcome from the receptionists.
The corridors are carpeted but well maintained (I have not seen clean carpets in hotels in a loooooong time).
The rooms are tastefully furnished and illuminated. The junior suite was quite comfortable, and the entertainment was good (based on my family's comments).
Complimentary breakfast was awesome 👌🏾. There was a variety of everything, and the meals were delicious. What I lacked the most was that the food had minimal salt but was still tasty. The other meals we had were equally tasty, the portions adequate and the prices quite fair compared to most hotels.
My family enjoyed the pool on the 9th floor, but we were not able to use the gym.
Back to the staff, all I can say is, "Thank you." You were all amazing. The receptionists, porters, restaurant staff, and cleaners were all amazing. The supervisor for the cleaners will even come by to ask if you are satisfied with the cleaning. I'm not sure what the management is doing, but keep it up (and I recommend a bonus or wage increase 😀😉).
In all, Collosus Hotel showed how collosal they are in every aspect of their services.
Here's a collosal 🌟🌟 🌟🌟🌟 for you,...
Read moreColossus is a place you'll enjoy, especially if you're looking for a slow-paced, minimal traffic hotel. They have maintained good service over the years I've visited.
Three major challenges I have Lighting - the lighting is set for a dim, yellow-light, warm feel. So if you need brighter light or want to be able to control the degree of light you need. Colossus is not the place.
On every visit that I've asked for a white light room or the bulb of the standing lamp changed to a white light. I didn't get it, and if you work at night and need light to help you stay awake. This hotel won't work.
Central cooling. They use central cooling that can not be controlled. You can't make it warmer or cooler even when you call maintenance. At best, they'll close the vent, so when I needed more cooling, I climbed a chair and opened the vent. When I needed even lesser cooling, I'd use a towel to block the closed vent.
Pool: I've never been able to understand why they used a plastic carpet in their pool instead of tiles. When I think of what moisture under a rubber carpet looks like, I shudder. On my last visit in 2025, I attempted to swim but realised that the carpet had become lose at different parts of the pool, making the water look murky and depositing sandy residue that you can see and feel if your feet touches the ground.
I never used the pool again and resorted to going to nearby...
