Sheraton Hotel Ikeja will always be a first for me in Nigeria for the following reasons -
Reception - From the moment you arrive at the hotels, you experience this warm reception at the Security Desk and then at the Check in counters, either on the ground floor or on the 6th floor. The staff are really Great and have great customer service.
Rooms - The rooms are beautiful and give you a homely feeling. The housekeepers do a great job of ensuring amenities are replenished and the room kept clean.
Lounge - The Lounge has a welcoming atmosphere and the evening happy hour is something I always look forward to because of the quality of food, drinks, and the staff. Plan your schedule around it and you will not regret it.
Friday Evenings Happy Hour - The band is good and entertains very well. You have to come early though to get a good seat. The range of drinks are are nice cheap and the "small chops" that come free adds to the happy feeling.
Buffet - The Spread at the Crock Pot Restaurant is great. You have varieties at certain days, giving you a good sense of other countries while in Nigeria. Something for travelers from different parts of the world.
Finally, I will like to just note the extraordinary Staff that made my long stay worthwhile. They are many but the following are worthy of mention:-
Winifred - 6th floor reception. Really Great customer service and very helpful
Goke and Perpetual - Lounge - Always great and cheerful.
Kelechi - Housekeeping- Takes his work very seriously and always with a smile on his face. ready to help at all times
Vincent - Concierge - Always well dressed and helpful. Knows guests by name and very courteous.
There are many other staff like Margaret, Bernard, Linda (Lydia? - Lounge) and of course Duty Manager Kemi. Not to forget Barry whom I met and interacted with a couple of times during my stay. He is always on hand to address guests issues or ask how things are going. They all make the Sheraton Ikeja experience memorable and worth replicating. I look forward to...
Read moreThe first thing i noticed on my arrival was the damp smell, as you got into the hotel, it was really bad, the hotel appears not to have been refurbished for ages, I was disappointed with the carpets on the hallways which were dated, the laminate wood flooring in the rooms which is shocking for a Sheraton and the overall smell which affected my sleep.
Breakfast was disappointing (for the cost) and the food by the pool was average. Room service was inconsistent, sometimes i got 2 towels, sometimes i got one, some times i got 4 bottled water other times i got one. The mini fridge was also always empty.

The hotel looks ok on the outside but as soon as you get in it was really bad. I spent £1200 in a week so surely this hotel has very good cashflow... it therefore should set some aside to keep the standard expected of a Sheraton. Compared to other Sheraton i have stayed in which are all 5 stars, i would give this hotel a...
Read moreIncident date March 17, 2025 This hotel frustrated my kids and I with their hidden checking time which was not included in the reservation confirmation email sent to me. Email stated check in time was 3pm, check out 12 pm, I arrived Nigeria from USA with my kids, went to the hotel around 3.30pm, the hotel would not check us in, they said my check in time is 10pm. I showed them the confirmation email, but they were in denial. I went to passport office because I had things to do, they offered to keep our luggages, when we came back around 6.30 pm, the hotel manager NATHANIEL, said he is not able to check us in unless I pay more money, stated the current rate went up. I have NEVER seen/heard anything like this before, this was a reservation I made from USA before traveling to Nigeria, considering I am a Marriot Bonvoy member they did not care, all the were interested was how to get more money out of me, without caring that I have minor children. I rather sleep in the streets of Lagos than to stay in this hotel again. Their overall boss was finally involved in this case around 8.30 pm while my kids was rooming around the hotel frustrated after a long journey from USA, we arrived around noon March 17, 2025, was not checked in until around 9pm. Though their boss gave us free dinner, considering my kids was denied of the comfort I wanted them have; cool off in their pool, and enjoy the ambiance of the hotel because trip was funeral trip, this hotel made it worse. I will appreciate some...
