Read moreI give it 3 stars Because of various reasons which I will elaborate below . I will rate all services and meals separately.
The Ambiance of the restaurant is a breath of fresh Air !
It feels new , it feels positive, it feels like you are in a really upscale environment which is no mean task in the middle of mainland Ikeja . Kudos to the design team , they pulled it off !
The waiter was polite , eager and extremely attentive. He made sure at all stages to be available for any service or critiques.
Appetizer-
Tempura Octopus ( 03 out of 10) Octopus was rubbery , over cooked and it was a complete disaster . It hurts to eat .
Tempura Prawns (09 out of 10) Cooked to perfection. Flavored beautifully!!
Pork pan seared Gyoza (08 out of 10) Flavor burst ! Loved them .
Main Course
Lamb Rogan Josh ( 07 out of 10)
Soft succulent lamb but probably was not cooked in the curry in itself was prepped separately, hence lacked the flavor that you get out of a long simmering curry which Rogan Josh is , was missing.
Garlic Nan ( 05 out of 10)
I wrote this as a separate item because it is a separate order , RIDICULOUS!!! So what am I supposed to eat with the curry ?
Too thin extremely overpriced, and too little !
Desert
Matcha Cake with Coconut icecream(02outof10)
Utter disappointment, total disregard to plating , the cake was warmed in a cup and had separated itself from the cups edges and looked ugly , tasted ugly ! Waste of calories and Money .
Drinks
Spicy Ginger and Vodka Coconut based mock tail
They were okay .
In total , I had a lot of expectations but I am disappointed.
It’s expensive but I do not mind paying the money if the food is worth it , In this case with this...
Read moreWhy 2 stars? This is an American hotel chain and they are running things like they are not. Example: pay 40k naira for Sunday Brunch buffet and get 2 alcoholic drinks.
But you can't choose your drinks. They have a drink that's made and offered.
Go non-alcoholic and it's only one (1) juice drink to which no one can explain which fruit juice but it's a concoction of various juices.
Furthermore, too many fried foods are made well advance and just placed under a heat lamp if that. No one wants cold fried food and definitely not at 40k per person.
The Kindle cans to keep the Indian food warm went out under the rice and josh Rogan and another. Again, this just doesn't meet the Marriot Bon Voyage standard. And I'm loyal to the brand.
The sushi is 4 PCs and made to order. I thought we could order so I asked for Maki and explained no mayo. That's when it was explained they provide four (4) pieces and I said okay but no mayo. It still Came with mayo. Le sigh.
Cute place. Reservations listened and gave a window seat. But the menu for brunch isn't published. Just show up and get what you get.
You must ask for the soups. We learned you can ask for fried rice because the only other table, at that time, got it made and brought to the table. There's cart service but that fried rice has eggs. They have a domain push cart but help us all.
What works: Decor Open kitchen (partial) Everyone is nice and polite but they could have more staff on the floor for tables. The menu could work they just need to post it. No one wants to manage Lagos traffic just to get there and turn around because of the options. It's clean. These are the things that saved the review from being...
