Ok, this place is a little hidden from prying eyes and the gates are usually closed and the building is set far back behind the fence. If happen the notice it and are able to make it in the compound and into the lobby, you must congratulate yourself. You have crossed the first hurdle. Its a very spacious compound with ample parking.
The setup is fine with all the expected artifacts for a Chinese restaurant. It was not crowded at all in my visit even though there were cars in the parking lot. Perhaps guests were in other rooms or eating spaces.
The menu was presented in two forms, the traditional book and laminated paper type and a little android tablet. I initially thought orders would be taken on the tablet and send to the kitchen for preparation. Sadly I was too hopeful as it was only to show me that they had colour photos with prices of the food items and drinks I can order. There was no cart or checkout button. Although the prices on the tablet menu captured Naira and the app in use was in Chinese.
For some reason the waiter and his colleagues seemed to be out of sync and order delivery was problematic. The King prawn delivered looks like a Pawn. The food seemed to come in an order that I was not use to from a Chinese restaurant. Plus I literally had to beg for the food to be delivered to the table as hunger was kicking in.
By the time everything was in place and I tasted the food. All the negatives of the place and service were kicked aside as the food tasted GOOD. I dare to say Very Good and hot. At the end of the meal they delivered complementary melon slices.
So putting aside the mixed cutlery, soy sauce in a bowl and rice being served on what seemed like a tray. I would certainly come back. However I may not order the King Prawn unless the confirm its King...
Read moreSo it was my first time here and I was really skeptical about the food because they looked quite strange at first, but I eventually loved every bit of it. We had a lot of protein options- fish, crabs, salmon, (and lots of other things I don’t remember by name). We prepared them in a hotpot. The hotpot is like a self service option, where you prepare the food yourself. There’s a cooker for each person on the table and the pot contains already made broth/sauce so you just add your choice protein and it gets ready in less than 5 minutes. (The video explains it better)
The ambience was very relaxing and informal, it felt like having dinner at home. The only reason why I’m rating this place a 4-star is because of the restroom- it reeked! Couldn’t even use it.
Overall, it’s a cool place, and I will...
