The View Rooftop Lounge — Restaurant in Lagos State

This is easily the worst review I have ever written as I am usually mindful that I might have engaged the organisation on a bad day but there is very little to redeem this beautiful restaurant.

They get one star instead of none for the ambience and view. The view was picturesque and a delight for several people in our party that are typically camera ready. Even the normally shy amongst us were inspired to take a pose.

Unfortunately this was as good as it got and it was downhill from here. Shambolic service, dire catering and a clear lack of ownership from the staff responsible for what was a spectacular service failure. I wish I had contact details for the owners of the restaurant because I don't know how their investment can survive too many night like this.

We were a party of about 36 people and we pre-ordered our meals to expedite service. The restaurant still found a way to mess this up to the extent that when we left after 4 hours some of us still didnt get what was pre-ordered 48 hours earlier.

We ordered off the menu and paid full rates so you can imagine our disappointment when the portions that arrived (the orders that came through) were a far cry from the regular meals served in the restaurant. They Offered us complementary bread and expected two of us to share one. It wasn't until we complained that they added more.

I had the steak like some others and it was clear that it was not a special cut as is typical of steak. They had just cut a lump of beef and thrown it over flames. It ws almost tasteless. The served oil fried fish to others in place of char-grilled as promise on the menu. This was for those who got their orders. Others just sat there and waited..and waited some more. At the end, the restaurant got us fried rice/sauce from the Chinese restaurant below and just dumped it on us as option for those who didn't get what they paid for.

The restaurant manager disappeared when things got tough and left helpless waiters to weather the storm. The saving grace for the restaurant is that we were a church group and so we conducted ourselves accordingly. I suspect things would have escalated if it was a different group.

Finally, I visted the gents and shockingly found out that the taps were not running when I tried to wash my hands. There was water in bottles placed there for people to use. I am describing scenes from a supposedly high end restaurant that charges premium rates.

This was an unmitigated disaster everywhere you look. Not even the beautiful decor or great view from the terraces could distract from the horror service offered by personnel and infrastructure.

I am not likely to return to this overpriced and disappointing space...

The lounge is on the rooftop of the Twinwaters building so you get to use the provision of the facility like the large parking space that can take lots of cars including #WheelchairAccessibility Parking and entrance. Elevators are available to take you up.

The ambiance of the lounge is impressive. The interior just looks nice but the experience triples when you get out. The first thing that tickles you is the double #view of the Atlantic on one end and the city on the other. If you get there early enough, you'd be able to have a great view of #Sunset. It is breathtaking. There are #HighChairs and tables as well as regular ones.

The food and drinks are great, well prepared and presented. Service is #Expensive so get prepared but it is worth it. Available for service are Fingerfoods, Platter, Drinks, Tea, #Cocktails #DraftBeer, etc. #FingerFoods range from N1,200 to N6,000; Main course and average of N7,000; #Tea range from N1,200 to N15,000. Drinks from N800 - N2,000.

Security is good, the interior is spacious enough for a medium crowd. Experience...

Covid protocols were adhered to 👌🏽.

The view is the first thing that gets you. It's really lovely and the water looks amazing. The sitting are in varied styles so I'm sure you'd get a style that works for you. We picked a table with high chairs. The inside is well furnished as well.

We had Nana's Chicken which I'd recommend as it was really good👍🏼. The chicken well grilled; tender and seasoned. The mixed vegetables were good along with the rice. We also had the chicken curry and mixed vegetable fried rice. This was enough for 2 people so we had to do a take away.

The cranberry juice and cranberry cola were good. If you prefer something sweet then the cranberry cola would be your choice. The cranberry juice works if you don't want anything sweetened.

Service was pleasant and relatively quick. Only issue was that my order got mixed up.

All in all its a very calming atmosphere....
