First of all I saw the hype about this restaurant online by a dude that rates restaurant he visits in Abuja. The ambience of this place was quite ok, but little space options downstairs to seat to dine. The air conditioning was poor and I was sweating like a Christmas goat for all the damn hype. I first had an incident with parking. I wasn't allowed to back up my vehicle for easy access to leave later. I was told by security it was management rules. But that kinda was surprising, bcos it didn't make any sense to me we aren't parked in front of a bank for God sake & it was a hot Sunday afternoon. First of all a restaurant is in a very busy gas station which is a fire hazard & that's dangerous. In case of a fire incident everyone in that building is toast. I had food poisoning in this restaurant for all the damn hype. I ordered two moi moi, crocker fish in sauce and fried beef & my partner ordered some fried rice asun which she said it was nice, but was pricey@ N6,000 for the rice alone excluding the crocker fish sauce and one little portion we thought was chicken, but it turned out to be a piece of Turkey in sauce for N6,200. My take is that the moi moi was just simply average nothing to whao! you about and stew sauce included to moi moi was tasteless was like tasting blended tomatoes with added salt. Another catch here was that for you to have a choice as a customer to seat upstairs was a charge of N5,000 per person and that ridiculous as far as I am concerned. I could understand if you had a private room for parties of 10 people and above for meetings, families and etc, but for single individuals or couples with other people in desame room is exploitation in my own opinion. This could be discrimatory to individuals of class status which this restaurant took advantage of the kinda attitude they have in Nigeria where people try to feel among a certain class status. So unfortunately I couldn't rate the ambience upstairs bcos it wasn't opened to their general customers which is unfortunate. I never seen something like this anywhere in the US & Europe but only in Nigeria. When I was leaving I saw an SUV backed up & I challenged the security about it & I was told it was officer's car & I asked why the rules didn't apply to all vehicles, but I must commend the security acted apologetic and I knew it was probably not their fault either, but took instructions from whom ever that instructed them to do so, which should be looked into. Since Sunday I have been visiting the bathroom and today is Wednesday. So I am allowing nature to take it's cause in flushing my system. I am not gonna return to that particular...
Read moreHad lunch here for a young family. The foods really are spicy, but there are some non-spicy options like fried fish, and the soups were not so spicy. No pounded yam, though. One thing they need really is a menu board because you have to ask the price for EVERY LITTLE THING! Instead, it would be easier to look at the menu board and decide for yourself what you want to spend and what the combinations are. The vibe...on point! Eat upstairs, the view is lovely and located across the road from Transcorp Hilton....but there is a fee of 5k for the upstairs dining....just beware. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and the restrooms...
