Hashtag Cafe & Bar is a cozy restaurant, lounge & relaxation spot in Wuse, that is neither hidden nor outrightly visible. Located in Mambolo Street in Wuse 2, it is about 600 meters away from Sultan Abubarka Way on one direction & 600 meters to Olu Obasanjo Way on the opposite direction. It is located on the ground floor shopping plaza which also hosts other businesses. The place doesn't shout at you as it is not a stand alone structure & not designed so. There is noticeable ingenuity in the arrangement of the furniture, equipment, disco lights, paintings & other forms of decorations/entertainment. Without doubt, I love the vibes, layout, simple furniture & ambience of the place. The Cafe & Bar has an extensive array of delicious exotic local & international meals available. These are prepared on patrons orders (alarcarte) & are thus served hot. The grilled fish is not bad to say the least. The 2 bars are also impressive with a wide range of spirits & wines on display. The outlet looks small to the cursory eye & mind from outside. However, the size of the facility on entrance or inspection looks much bigger than the initial impression. There're 3 sitting/relaxation areas, one outdoor (by the road) & 2 indoors. The indoor sections host a bar each. Of the 2 indoor areas, one doubles as a club with all necessary facilities & aesthetics. The place is usually very clean (including the convenience). Hashtag is known for it's good music, delicious meals, assorted drinks & friendly/homely atmosphere. Generally, this an congenial place for decent fun...
Read moreThe ambiance and atmosphere is pretty laid back and chilled. It has a happening classy club feel at night with nice pumping afro beats.
What I loved the most about it is that I can surprisingly sit down there and work comfortably especially before 7pm. For mobile office movers like myself, a place where I can comfortably sit down and work without disturbance from the establishment and still have good food is always welcome.
Their restaurant food isn't too bad as well. I had their lamb chops with french fries and loved it. And given how it is the most reasonably priced in upmarket restaurants in Abuja, I'll definitely go back for it again.
The second time I visited I ordered their buffalo wings and was rather disappointed with how tiny and small they were. That notwithstanding they tasted great.
Their noodles with shredded chicken isn't exactly the best to be honest; I've had better. It is however one of their most affordable meal options and you'll definitely be full from it.
Overall, for the prime location in Abuja where they are situate, their prices are shockingly affordable. With N2,000 you can have a filling meal...
Read moreLet's begin with the DJ: he was on fire rather coolly. What this means is, he played all hit songs and for every 5 jams, he visited the 80s & 90s. As they say, "it was lit!"
To the lavatories (sorry but) they clean and well maintained. Nice fragrance in there too. I hope they keep this up. These conveniences are housed in the small indoor section where you have the DJ, a convertible dance floor of sorts, and a see through kitchen as a testament of their food quality I guess. Talking about food... hmmm... the fish - whether peppered or grilled - is great-tasting. Do NOT miss the fried yams! Take a while to taste all on the menu, and do not forget the drinks. They serve a wide variety.
Personally, I love to sit outside. It's equally small and airy and the music is softer out here. This space spots a bar as well. The downside of Hashtag Cafe & Bar is it's size. And oh, they got a grooming salon...
